22B or not, Subarus are meant to be driven hard. That's why they made the damn limited edition in the first place, to bring the pleasure of WRC to ordinary mortals!

If I'm paying that much for a classic subie I'm guna drive the balls off it. Since I'm never going to own one, I don't care if they get used up by owners having fun.

Besides there's always one boring collector with a 100 mile example somewhere.

People seem to forget that Imprezas were built to deal with shit like this:

Correction, 0 mile example because heaven forbid the car even moves the tires under its own power

Indeed. The flat spots on original dry rotted tyres add value. I once saw a 5000 mile 80s TVR S2 that boasted original fluids. All I could think is "dude, change your oil!"

Only 400 made? That's a decent amount, that's not rarity. Rarity is when there are few of a series production car (not special edition of a series production car) made or leftover.

I've seen and held rifles and shotguns that were worth more than this car, possibly even two of them. Many of them sported dented stocks, scratched finishes, and all manner of scars to prove they were used for their intended purpose. In an aficionado's mind, it is an insult to the maker to NOT use the product they have built. Also, life's too short to hunt with an ugly gun. The same logic applies to cars wholeheartedly, in my opinion.

the 22b was SPECIFICALLY built for this. it ONLY exists for homologation reasons
