This is for free on craigslist, but what is it? Grille surround looks Hudson Hornet-ish, but it has power brakes and what looks like an Oldsmobile motor.

It does appear to be a '48-54 Hudson of some sort. Can't tell if its a Hornet or a Commodore or a Wasp or a Pacemaker.

All hudsons of that era should have a flathead i6, which this does not assuming that it is still original.

A Studebaker, maybe?

The bigger ones had straight eights, but it could certainly have been modified. The Olds Rocket was a popular choice for hot rodders.

Interestingly enough, this appears to be one of the second gen Olds motors rather than the period correct motor.

Note the verticle oil filler neck on the passenger side and the coil mounted on the back

Unfortunately, the only thing that looks familiar to me is the motor.

Unless someone else recognizes anything specific about the car, I won't be able to identify it.
