I was driving home today and I noticed that on every single Ford truck I saw the third brake light assembly was identical. Then I realized my truck has the same third brake light assembly as the ones I saw. It appears that Ford has been using the same third brake light on every single Ford truck from 1993 till the present. The ford ranger was the first Ford truck to be redesigned right before the 1994 third brake light law regarding pick up trucks was enacted.

Edit: misread question. It's the engine and transmission by a long shot on the Safari. Anything from a W/T K1500 to two-door Tahoe.

in my 98 Camaro I would guess the radio. In the late 90s early 2000s Chevy used the same radio in just about everything. Had to be that din and half oddball size

Lot of mechanical components carried over from the NA Miata like the engine block, transmission, diff, etc. but besides that the NB Miata had a lot of bespoke parts going for it. Although my NB2 Miata shares the same Nardi-badged steering wheel with the Mazda 6 (no badge) and the FD RX-7!

I know my 3 and the CX-5 share some interior parts and the 2.0 that I think is no longer available on the CX-5 is the same. The 2.0 in the new miata is the same too.

The Cruise control knob on my 1992 Camry was the same as a newer Camry who knows maybe even the all new 2015 Camry.

Toyota cruise control lever. Its in my fiance's 1998 Rav4, its in my 2006 Corolla S, and its even in the 2015 Scion FR-S. Don't believe me? Look it up, its pretty crazy. Don't knock it though, after using various cruise control systems from honda, chevy and other brands, this design to me is the easiest to use and requires the least amount of space (i.e. no extra buttons on the dash or steering wheel)

Lol dude I just finished posting that same thing! My 2006 Corolla has the same one, my fiance's 1998 Rav4 has it, and the new FR-S has it. If it aint broke don't fix it. I love how that cruise control is used, its so simple and easy to use. Its much better than the set up on my mom's Honda Element, which has a button to turn on cruise, then 3 buttons on the steering wheel just for cruise control. Where as with Toyota its just all on one stalk

the miata dome light was a Mitsubishi cargo light. a good improvement of the super dim stock tinted one is to get the clear DSM one.

Well, on the 4Runner the cruise control stoke, I think it's been on every Toyota since the 90s and to date at least the most popular models still have the same thing, it's been mentioned above.
On my Golf, the headlight knob, it's used on everything from VWs and Seats, to Audis up and down the range and for many years now.

Then you have an XL no T. The white lights are controlled by the interior light switch, they are for loading cargo in the bed at night. If you ever see someone driving with them on they have the interior dome light on.

The Ranger's got a lot more recycled parts.
Rear suspension and brakes go all the way back to 1983, unchanged. Body panels 1993-2012, 7.5 rear axle dates back to the Pinto and Maverick, the Vulcan 3.0 first saw duty in the Taurus, pedals date back to the early 80's and were probably recycled even then.

cruise control is so handy! Not sure how cruise control works on the CRV, but as I mentioned before, how it works in the Element is a little clunky because you have button on the dash to run it on, then like 4 buttons on the steering wheel for it, while on Toyotas you just have that stalk you simply pull towards you to cancel your cruise, up to speed up, down to slow down, and then on and off is on the end as a button

I dont have a 7.5 axle, I have an 8.8. And I dont have a Vulcan 3.0, I have a cologne 4.0. But Im aware there are more parts bin parts, but I believe the 3rd brakelight is the MOST parts binned part

Window cranks on the MR2. It was also used for pretty much any 80s Corolla, Celica, Supra, Tercel, and I forget what else, and that's just in the American market. I'm sure it was used in more cars back in Japan.
Brakes on the BRZ. I could be mistaken, but IIRC the same brakes are on the WRX and a few of the bigger Subies. I don't know what else could have been reused considering the BRZ was quite literally an all new car when it was released. EDIT - Just found out that it's the cruise control stalk. It's used all over the Toyota lineup.
