I considered listing every vehicle for sale in 1957, with price, engine, trans, dimensions, and pictures. That would take way too long, so I cut it to just the name, price, and body. That would still take too long, and seeing as I would probably miss a few vehicles, I'll just let y'all decide.
Restriction: must be production, no custom or one-off
My choice:
1957 Ferrari 250 GT Pininfarina Cabriolet. I'm a sucker for a GT car, especially classic Ferraris. Elegant, graceful shape that is mostly identical to the California, but has more creature comforts and is better insulated. Imagine this: Swerving down a seaside road in the French Riviera with the top down, quad exhausts bellowing, and 23-year old Sophia Loren riding shotgun. *cross-eyed and faints*
-$14,950 in 1957 (median annual household income-adjusted for today = $146,485)
-The actual price of one today = "Why buy a Vintage Ferrari 250 Cabriolet when you can get a Veyron Super Sport for less?"
-3.0L 24v V12 producing 240hp and 195 ft-lb
-4-speed manual
-2,855 lbs
Why this over a similar T-bird, 3500GT, Aurelia, or XK140? They have either a V8, I6, or V6. The 250GT has a V12 :)

1957 Chevrolet Nomad. Special order from Chevy with the 283hp 283v8 (factory fuel injected in 1957), 4 spd, two-tone surf green/white.
Why?
1- Because its a freaking nomad
2- Because 57 Chevy's are so darn beautiful
3- Because wagon
4- Because factory fuelie from the 50s
5- Why not?

Probably a '58 Imperial LeBaron Southampton 2-door hardtop. Though the answer could change by the day.

If another restriction is domestic, this would be my choice too.

1957 Eldorado Brougham. It was, quite simply put, the best car ever made at the time.

Since the Eldorado Brougham and the 507 have already been said, I'll pick the other car from that year which ties for first for me, which also happens to be the fastest car in the world in 1957, and a thing of astonishing, jaw-dropping beauty.
