After a wet and cold January we find ourselves in February. The temperature would turn out to be 77 degrees on that day, but the morning still warranted a nice fleece pullover to keep the wind at bay.
As usual I took my time to get there, and got there a little later than usual. The parking lot was packed, I had to park further than ever before. Summer temperatures (or should I write late autumn or early spring, this is Texas after all) bring out all the toys.
And as the video preview above shows, it was another month for firsts. A LaFerrari and a Porsche 918 showed up. The LaFerrari even came with its own security detail. How they got the two guys and the poles in that car I, to this date, still don't know.
What I do know is that a car show is a significant risk to any automobile. The monetary value of that LaFerrari is nuts. But that pretty much sums all us guys and gals up. We're all nuts, and we all want to show off what we got or enjoy what others have to show. And yes, the owner of that LaFerrari let some people sit in it. Nuts? Absolutely. And I am loving it. And that's part of the reason why I keep coming back every month. We are all equals there.
See you next month!

I can understand being terrified to let your hyper-expensive exotic sit freely amongst the masses, but if I had the money to afford a hyper-expensive car, I'd say, to hell with the car for a few hours! Let everybody get a moment of happiness — it's better than somebody crashing into it. I understand the car's value will just soar in many years but I would also have the money to get any imperfections on the car's surface sorted out as well.

Well, I'm here to tell you that the poles were there beforehand, and I believe they were taken away in another car. I looked around for you, but there was exactly 10 million people there so the odds weren't exactly favorable. And the people he let sit it in were people he is very good friends with through work(he owns a big healthcare business). he wouldn't even let me get some close up shots "for an online automotive blog." I should've finished my picture editing by now, but schedule=very packed lately. I will put them up this week though.
Did you get the chance to talk to the owner of the LaFerrari or the 918? They were both pretty cool and neither were meat-head rich people.

It was more of a tongue in cheek remark than anything. But those poles where just perfect, very high quality. Just like the car.
I did not get to talk to the owner, but I saw some folk get in it. Pretty darn awesome, even if they are friends. I asked one of the security guys to kindly move so I could get a shot in, and he did gladly.
Can't wait to see your pictures dude! C&C is epic every month. And it is like I mentioned. Those that show up at cars and coffee are truly equal. All nuts about cars! Although some kids that spectate have the tendency to disrespect another guys ride. When the Veyron was there I verbally slapped a kid that was about to put his his hand on the bodywork for a picture. "Is it yours," I said "No? Then don't touch it, have some respect," He might have thought I was the owner, who knows. But he wised up real quick.
If you see me walk around next month (or the month after that) feel free to say hi. I talked to someone that subscribed to my channel for my c&c videos there this month. It's pretty humbling to get thanks on-line. It's even more so to get it in person.

He was a pretty cool guy, he also has a 599GTO, 458, and "a few 458 Challenge series race cars" that he races... He also said that he started talking to Ferrari about buying one 5 years ago, and had literally just brought it home from Boardwalk and brought it there. Those signatures on the front were there because he has become friends with the head designers at Ferrari and had them sign it. He chose the color yellow because the head designer said that the design elements are brought out best in that goldish yellow.
It is funny hearing the little kids running around, but scary when you see them get close to the cars. I'm only 16, but I have more respect for cars than most adults I believe. There was one time at Cowtown C&C when I saw a kid try to get into a Ferrari, and I told him that only the Jaguars from Autobahn were open for people to look at. Then he asked his dad to unlock it....and got in to play on his iPad.
I just finished editing tonight so hopefully they will be up tomorrow or Wednesday around 4 or 5p.m. And I will try to put them up on the Oppo Flickr as well if you miss them on Oppo.
I watched your video(great as always) and saw myself and my grandfather in the shot when you were in Porsche-land which was pretty funny. I got a really good video of the LaFerrari convoy leaving on my phone that I will try to post as well. When an ACR Viper, Gallardos, LaFerrari, 2 458 Italia's, 458 Speciale, and Ford GT all leave at the same time you know I ran quite a ways to record that.
I will definitely try to look for you, what time do you usually arrive though? And by about what time do you migrate over to the side on Spring Creek rd.? Maybe that'll give us more of a chance of finding each other

I can't count the times I double-time it to a location to catch a car. Sometimes I am too slow, but, you can't catch them all!
As to my arrival time: It usually is between 8 and 8:30. I tend to walk around the cars for about half an hour to an hour and then head for the exits. I frequent the spring creek exit and tollway frontage road, on the corner of spring creek. I do wander though, and sometimes end up going back and shooting more cars in the parking lot. I leave when the camera battery runs out. And that is around 10 - 10:30.

I am the king of scatter-brainedness at a car show and tend to walk all over the place many, many times.
I will definitely try to find you if I can make it to March(which, unfortunately, might not happen) but for sure in April. I tend to walk around most of the time with my camera and my Viper shirt.
Oh, and the pics should go up tomorrow, just fyi
