Found some interesting cars...
can anyone tell me what this is?
Ford Explore that was mutilated?
1990 MIATA!!! Sadly a victim of a broken timing belt. It has a good top with the glass rear window intact (but the driver side striker almost broke my damn pinky :(
Probably going to get that along with the cruise control parts (my grandfather's 94 doesn't have it) and the hand brake along with the gauge cluster cover. The only part that I would feel bad about is that the interior is IMMACULATE and taking the top would certainly ruin it...

Corolla FX-16. Now that you mention it, I usually see 1-2 a day. It is now 1-2 every 3 months.

I haven't seen that variety of Corolla for a very, very long time.

I'll see what I can do :) It's in damn good condition, only the drivers side rocker is starting to rust. The owner took really good care of it until the belt broke... it only had 170k miles on it too
:(

If I recall correctly, the FX16 was the hot-hatch version. A Corolla GTI, if you will. Supposedly quite good, if not terribly well known.

Can anyone tell me what this is?
You mean the one that says "Corolla FX16" on the decklid?
That was Toyota's hot FWD hatch back when 8valve motors were the norm, which is why the called it FX16, and wrote "DOHC" and "16 valve" all over it. Only available 87-88.

Why would anyone throw away a perfectly good Miata over a mere timing belt? It's a non-interference engine; when the timing belt lets go it just coasts to a stop and the valves survive. And as timing belts go, it's pretty accessible, right out there in the front of the engine.
I wish I could get hold of that top, though, it looks like it's in good shape. The window in my '99's top is held in with duct tape. I'd probably snag the seats and the center console as well.

Oh cool! I think it had a bad motor though... probably a broken timing belt and/or dropped valves like most of the other cars there including the Miata

I thought Miatas had non-interference engines. It'd be terribly sad if a broken timing belt was all that landed that there – all it would need would be a new belt and tensioner.

NO THE TOP IS MINE! Sadly I don't know what happened to the engine other than the fact that it had bits of timing belt EVERYWHERE and the timing sprockets were off the car sitting on the dash lol

IDK the engine was partially disassembled though :(
I would buy it as a parts car though :)

Aww... Poor FX16.... Was the engine still in it/did it look usable? I loves me some 4AGEs.

It's its own chassis. Super light-weight, independent suspension all around, and a stupidly rev-happy little motor that goes to 8000.

Extremely good. I'd be hard pressed to choose between one of those and an original GTI.

Nothing AE86ish other than the engine. It's the 4AGE, which was also in the MR2 and a few other cars.

The 4a's a non-interference engine. Timing belt won't do anything to it.

They had 3 of them in varying conditions...
a black one in decent shape, everything was there
white one in shitty condition, interior has been exposed because open sunroof
There was another one too in "eh" condition
All were 1st gen FBs

4AGEs are pretty unkillable. Imma guess that they tried to start it, couldn't and decided it was bunk when it really just has a vacuum leak or something.

No CRXs at all. They only had one Miata... however they did have 3 or 4 RX7s and like a billion Taurii and Pontiacs lol

I think they were actually called the Corolla GTI here. They've got the 4AGE from the MR2 & AE86 right?

In front of the Miata? On the right is a first gen RX7, on the left you're probably right.
If you are talking about the row farther up you are probably correct
