bit of snow, and barely any traffic thanks to president's day, one of the first at the office aside from the night shifters. the mostly empty streets around the office was actually pretty fun, even in my little Fun Wheel Drive car

My commute would have been fine if not for the god awful temperatures outside. Took forever for my car to get warm.

and then you have to blast the heat to keep the windshield from freezing up, then you are sweating.

I normally have that problem with keeping the right amount of heat on the windshield, but this morning I just kept it blasting. It was like -10F even before the windchill, so once my car was warmed up, it was pretty comfortable.

I am an odd bird, but I think the EK Hatch is one of the best looking cars ever. EK coupes as well. The proportions are just perfect. After a little lowering, maybe Si grill and wheels, and I am in love. How are your rear quarter panels doing?

perfection. not a drop of rust anywhere on her.

SI grill and HFP wheels are in storage through winter.

Awesome car. If they put the D16Y8 in the hatch I would buy one. But I don't like swapped cars. Why oh why couldn't they at least put a tach in any trim of the hatchback...

you can swap the guage cluster and get a tach, no need ot swap the engine :D

yeah, d16 was acceptable, and got good fuel economy, but had to go

Oh haha, I know that. The comment in regards to not liking swaps referred to the Y7 more so than a tach. What motor is she running now?

Don't worry my miata is long gone and I'm back in a Honda. If my Miata had a B16 I would still have it though, believe that! For the record I've owned 4 Hondas and only one Mazda.

Yes for the time being. It was a bad buy. Previous owner fucked with every little thing. LEDs crappily replacing every interior light on the car, sound deadening in the spare tire well in the back, shifter feels sloppier than my previous Hondas, and (my personal hated favorite) he tried to replace the gauge faces Amber gilm with blue, my guess is by scraping off the amber film and using a blue crayon by the looks of it. Drives me nuts. I just feel as if the car has been driven hard and put away wet. I'll bet a better example would be a satisfying car though. I test drive an 04 Accord I4 5MT the other day at a dealership. They offered me 2500 for my Civic. My 2004 Civic with 80,000 miles and a clean carfax. My head exploded all over his desk.

/rant. Phew.

I felt the same about the shifter in the EP3. I loved teh quirky location, but I think the issues are tied. It was the first year they did a cable shifter instead of rods. And the placement feels like they wanted to play up that new feature. And teh cables are likely what resulted in poor shifter feel.

Kinja'd!!!

you have a later model with 5 lug wheels, need to get a set of those EP3 type R rims :D

I have the 4 lug version as my summer wheels for the EK.

After a couple days ago my first priority is getting this bumper damage fixed, not upgrading my wheels. Having trouble sourcing a bumper too… This whole rare car thing can be a pain. Those wheels would look damn good on my car though ha.
