And since driving power is applied in the direction the car is being steered, it helps you through the turns

Ha

Kinja'd!!!

YES THIS IS TOTALLY HOW "DRIVING POWER" WORKS
Not, you know, just that you'll be slower going into the turn, faster out, because understeer is a bitch second only to trail-braking for improved steering being at cross purposes to engine braking.

Yes well, Honda's wonderful front-wheel-drive contributed largely to totalling my Civic on an icy offramp. Understeer (and an idiot tailgater) is a fucking bitch.

And yet the two best Hondas ever made are the S2000 and NSX.

(disclaimer: I have precisely nothing against front-drive cars)

You should have applied power when cornering, it helps you through the turns.

As cheery a thing as I'm sure the S5/6/800 is, I think I'd rather own an S2000 if I were to drive it often. Or fast.

absolutely. parts availability alone is enough to make the early roadsters a dealbreaker for a daily driver. but that doesn't undermine any of the engineering that went into the vehicle.

What is this circle of traction nonsense, the mighty Civic does not follow your piddling laws of physics.
