I mean, really. If my company's major shareholders threaten me to kick my butt out of my company for not doing what they want and opposing to everything I wanna do even if I have a far better plan, and I learn about it, I'd do unspeakable, unfathomable shit, served just for them.

Major shareholders don't often know their arse from their elbow but because they have spent their money on shares feel like they are business people when really all you want is for them to be silent partners and to berate you when you do wrong and pat you on the back when you do right.

Do you work for a Conrad Black type? Just because they're the majority shareholders doesn't mean they're allowed to run the company like their personal fiefdom.

That said, if you can sell-out to them for a good price, I'd be minded to say that it's not a fight worth having.

assuming we 're talking about a company you founded or started and then brought on investors as the major stockholders for cash and or resources, I'd hope you have a good handle on the contracts you signed. Ie who has the true authority in making executive decisions. Could be you, could be them. And also, does the board in fact have the authority to replace you or your executive responsibilities with one of their people?

I'm not saying not to do the unspeakable shit. But remember not to get too tied up in the emotional side of it. It's just business. And you might have to deal with these people again in your next venture.

Oh... Someone pointed out, that selling out can be the best option sometime.
