We can import Honda Beats.
RWD, mid-engined, manual, what's not to love? Also, the squee factor is high. I'd love to take one to a Honda dealership and watch them scratch their heads.
When I get the chance, I'll import one of these and a Suzuki Cervo.

I totally want to find a small car for commuting, parking where I go is a bitch, even in garages, tiny spaces. I'm going to Japan in May so I will look around again.

How much do they go for in Japan? I may actually go through with importing one. It's either a Beat or a Toyota Sera.

The Beats I'm seeing between $3000-6000. Not sure about the Seras from my research. I'm liking the doors though.

Seras are right around the same price though more towards 6000 than 3000. Also the doors inspired a certain Gordon Murray to make a car with the same design.

Awesome upholstery.

There's no way a Toyota Sera inspired McLaren to do those doors.

Also the Nissan Figaro

Choosing dihedral doors was a central part of the F1's drama - and the inspiration came from a Toyota Sera parked near Murray's house. 'I drove past it everyday,' he remembers. 'Eventually we borrowed a Sera and the design started from there. The final design was fixed with Bruce Mackintosh and myself late one night when we mocked up the doors in a wireframe on the seating buck. It was necessary to remove part of the roof and part of the floor to give the driver access to the central seat so a conventional door wouldn't work.'
Oh yes, yes it did.

I think this just broke the squee scale.

Oh man, that's cool.

Srsly working out a budget to import one of these fine little shits
![]() 02/14/2015 at 16:31 |

And when I get my Honda Beat we can take them both to track days and troll people in Brostangs.

Imagine if that one guy who lived down the street from Mr. Murray hadn't bought a Sera. The world would have been so boring.

It may be terrible, because I don't really know much about it, but I want a Nissan Pao.
I shall some day import one of these, along with a 1KZ-TE powered Surf.

This is bad news. It's only a matter of time until some insane person puts a V8 in it. Once that one hits the road, somebody gonna die.

I can see that being big among the hipster cloud.
![]() 02/14/2015 at 16:38 |

I doubt a V8 will fit in it.
An F20C on the other hand...

Classy, isn't it?
![]() 02/14/2015 at 16:39 |

Never saw one in black before, it really suits it. Maybe even better than the standard light green.
![]() 02/14/2015 at 16:40 |

Not bad. Kind of makes it look like a classic London cab.
![]() 02/14/2015 at 16:42 |

Probably, but it would be super fun with a SR20 swap.
![]() 02/14/2015 at 17:09 |

Yes please.

The only unattractive thing about the Sera is the amount of Tercel dna in there.
![]() 02/14/2015 at 17:15 |
|
That Tercel DNA means that it will look good AND run forever.
![]() 02/14/2015 at 17:16 |
|
Meh, depends on which kind of Tercel it's from.

Most of the underneath parts are from this bad boy -
Practically a supercar in its own merit.
![]() 02/14/2015 at 17:33 |

I know of at least one V8 that would easily fit...

They are A LOT cheaper than that...
http://www.goo-net.com/usedcar/spread…
This one would be a beat over 1000$ ( :) )
http://www.goo-net.com/usedcar/spread…
1500$ for this one... The price on the left does not concern you, it's thep rice for it licensed, registered and insured.
You'll find douzens of Beats for around 2000$.
A Sera will go between 3 and 5000$. It's FWD though...

I CANT READ JAPANESE BUT IT WANT THAT BEAT WTF.

Cars are cheap here man, really cheap :)
Which is why I'll most likely end up importing one from the US.... Go figure. The only car I really want costs a fortune here nad is cheapish in the states... Fuck me.

Figaros are fun. Someone I know has one, and he took me out for a spirited spin in it. That little 1 litre turbo engine is a lot of fun. Auto only, but the roof goes down and with the fully-independent suspension, it is a ton of fun to chuck around.

I would love one of these!
![]() 02/14/2015 at 21:57 |

I saw one in Monterey this past summer. They're a lot smaller than I thought

I love how the headlights go all the way to the wheel arches.
![]() 02/14/2015 at 22:03 |
|
This one had the Zebra interior too!
![]() 02/14/2015 at 22:04 |
|
And it also has the optional disclaimer on the hood. I hear that's pretty rare in Japan.

lol yes that's the rare FYI package.
