Also note the yellow paint inside of the doors, haha.

At first I was like "How can you tell?" and then I saw the interior pics of the doors.

That, and it's the LWB package. Plus the orange warning lights on the trunk lid, and in the grill.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't some Crown Vics purchased by taxi companies from the police once the car's police life is over? It could have been one, and then the other.

Not that one. It's a Commercial LWB Crown Vic. Extended wheelbase, more rear legroom and full "leather" seats. Mainly used as Taxis in New York, and then taxis in Atlanta and sometimes DC.

Ah, I gotcha. The pictures didn't load for me, didn't see the leather and wheelbase. Question retracted!

Well, maybe it was a police car in a city with a large Chinese-American population? The LWB cars were technically available to all fleet customers, after all.

Yes, but the inside of the doors are yellow and it has the amber emergency indicators in the front grill and on the trunk lid, which are only used by New York cabs.

Chinese American population huh?

I know, I was just trying to think of some scenario where a police department might possibly order a LWB police car (the Chinese are notorious for loving stretched wheelbase car, except that seems to apply more to Chinese living in China than to the diaspora).

Oh, haha.

I can't imagine a Police department ever needing a LWB car. Prisoners won't need the extra room, lol.

The rear thing between the taillights has been replaced somewhere along the lines with a "Police Interceptor" badge. Probably when it was repainted, so the owner probably got confused by that and inferred that it was a Police Interceptor.

If they did, it would only be because the police chief or the police officers wanted to look more important by driving around a longer car (might only work properly with unmarked units).

Yup, they usually use SUVs for that type of thing though.
