Human resentment over glowing orbs has been steadily growing. People appreciate a lighthearted article that allows them to laugh at the past 4,300 years of enslavement.

This was an "oh shit, copy is due in 20 minutes and my 500th story about Easter Bloc vehicles is falling apart just like the cars. Well, I am known for being zany; let's see how the suckers take this".

Apparently the answer was...fairly well.

It's classic bait and switch humor with a side of Andy Kaufman antihumor. Torchinsky article, so people should know what to expect, but they're going to still head in thinking the first item on the list is something... sane. It's not. Then after the initial "okay...?" reaction, one proceeds to the next item on the list, expecting *either* something else silly or something more serious. Nope, neither, another Floating Orb entry. Then one proceeds through the rest of the entries one at a time. Orb, orb, *another* orb.. DAMMIT TORCH. The humor past the initial "wait, what?" giggle of confusion is of the "I see what you did there" variety, in which one is appreciating someone's attempt to confuse the audience or general insanity. It's also making use of the principle that if you repeat a joke past the point it becomes irritating, its irritation may become funny.

Easter Bloc - significantly less pastel colors involved

Is there some pop culture reference that we're missing or did he just take all the drugs?

I'm pretty sure he just pulled this one out of thin air. Psychoactive substances may have been involved.

Removing the glowing orbs from your car. Hopefully this article will help some people let go of their adolescent dependency on these orbs.

Those drugs? Yeah, all of them. He didn't leave any for you, me, GameCat, anybody. Nobody in the world. All of them.

I enjoy reading Torch's stuff for the same reason I enjoy reading Hunter Thompson and watching the Eric Andre Show. It's fun having a little window into the insanity of other people.

Torch is great and all, but he's no Thompson.

Crap, now I want to watch Fear and Loathing.

Only similar in that their work reflects their insanity
