Anyone here going? I've never been before and it's only two hours from St. Louis so I think I'm going to go this year. It's February 27-28th in Salem, Steelville and Potosi, Missouri. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! if you goons want to check it out. It will be my first rally event so I'm excited! If anybody is going, I'd love to meet up, drink some beezos with you and watch some rallying.

Co-driving the #22 Fiesta. Really looking forward to this one. When the conditions are right the roads are incredible.

Do it! 100 Acre is one of my favorite events. When it doesn't snow/freeze the roads are fantastic.

I'll request the weekend off work tomorrow morning! I've heard it's a lot of fun and a really cool rally to see.
I'd love to meet up with you and see the Fiesta if that's cool!

I've been twice before, but I can't make it this year. It's an awesome event. Great people and beautiful scenery. Shoot for every other spectator area, rather than every one. You won't have to fight the crowds as much. Go to the parc exposes to see some awesome cars and hobnob with the drivers. Make sure to see the super special in Pitosi, but get there early. The place gets packed. And whenever possible, take the twisty, double-letter roads between spectator areas. They provide some excellent fun, and you feel like you're part of the rally.
Here's my story from last year.

I'd do some serious study before you go, to decide which stage areas you want to spectate at. I forget what location we went to, but it ended up being a long, slow drive and then a long walk and then a very small spectator area. And there there was a wreck that cut the stage short. Not the best experience for my first rally... I think the cattle guard jump spot would be really fun to watch, and I'm sure there are some others on great corners. I'd try to find someone who's gone before as a spectator to get some tips on the best spots. Parc Expose is cool, too - definitely make it to one of those. Just realize that watching rally in the US is not at all like watching rally in Europe or elsewhere. It's so skewed toward safety here that you really have to understand where you're allowed to be to watch, and pick the best spots based on that.
Have fun! Get some good pictures!

I'm not going this year either.
They are asking for volunteers though if you want to do that. Although you are restricted to what you can do & where you can go.
But usually you'll get put in the middle of no where and get up close.
I'd suggest volunteering for one of the days so you get the feel. Saturday is the longer day and when you volunteer you'll get an invite to the after party, free beer which is usually fat tire & food.

Great, thanks for the info! Dusty Ventures is co driving in the rally so I'll probably ask him the best places to spectate. I'm really looking forward to going. The Parc Expose is at 12 on Friday so I'll more than likely drive there that morning and make it just in time.

That sounds awesome. Friday I'm gonna get a feel for everything and see if I can volunteer Saturday if I'm up for it!

Man, great write up! It looks like a ton of fun and I'm really looking forward to it! I'll be bringing all my camera gear and camping in my wagon like you did haha
Anything in particular you recommend doing or bringing?

It gets dark fast Friday most stages are at night. You won't see much, but mmmmmm the sweet smell of race gas.
Also if you volunteer it makes it way easier if they know ahead of time and schedule to place people way in advance. I'd suggest just watching this year and see about volunteering next year. If you aren't sure you'll want to.

Thanks! Take some snacks and water. There will probably be some hiking involved. And don't park up near the spectator spot. You'll be the last to leave. Don't lug a chair around with you. You probably won't use it. And bring lots of insulation for the knight camp. There's a little reservoir just outside Steelville that has primitive camping. That's where I parked.

Thanks for the help! I'll be bumming majorly that weekend camping in my wagon but I'm looking forward to it!
I'm planning on bring my camera gear, a sleeping bag and playing it all by ear. Should be a good time! After the rally on Saturday I'll probably party with a few friends that go to Missouri S&T and I'm trying to get some of them to come watch the rally with me.

I know you're busy doing rally stuff, but I have a dumb question in case you're on Oppo tonight.
Where is the Parc Expose? Salem or Potosi? I'm planning on leaving my house at around 9:30 tomorrow and ai want to make sure I head to the right place haha
