And here we find an Audi it its natural state. Undressed, and in the workshop. Carefully being tended to by someone with very calloused hands, and a large vocabulary of curses in various languages around the world... SCHEIßKOPF!
Tune in next week as we find out if this Audi is to undergo more plastic surgery before going back to the model runway.
Backstory: At my last track day, the heater stopped working. Reason was because no coolant was getting to the heater core. Well, the coolant hasn't been changed in who knows how long, so time to change the coolant. Yes, pulling the bumper makes changing the coolant easier. Plus it means I can clean out the crap that's taken up residence on the intercoolers.

Fixing an Audi
Step 1. Remove engine
Step 2. Receive bill
Step 3. Cry

Only if paying someone to do it.
In my case, the three steps are as follows:
0. Read the factory service manual.
1. Attempt procedure.
2. Realize factory service manual is wrong.
3. Curse those *$@ $#*#!&% $#*($!#&%( *$#*#$@!* German *#$&*!@# Engineers $#%*$@&%*@ #$*&@! $*@)$@) $%(!@)! till the end of time.

Looks like a nice garage to work in.

It's nice and deep, but I'd like more space on the sides. I did at least rectify the overhead lighting (i.e. there wasn't any when I bought the house).
There's also a timing chain from Ramblin Rover's 300D in the picture.

We never have enough room. I have plenty of lighting on the wall/ceiling. Wish I had more about 3' from the floor. I have to change the remote oil filter mount gasket on my truck.

I want a MaxJax because floor jacks and jackstands make me annoyed. Currently I haven't drained all the coolant from the lower radiator hose because the S4 is pointed nose up.

What is a MaxJax? Sounds like something I should have.

Mid rise two post lift. Only requires 3000psi 4 inch concrete slab. I could make it work in my garage, barely, but I'd rather have a shop building for that.

With only an 8' ceiling, it probably won't be worth the $2500. If I had a pole building...

service manual says you have to replace all the bolts you undo , that's your problem.
you're reusing them.

Only applicable with TTY or aluminum bolts on a BMW N52 block.
Tbis was more in reference to the lunatic bumper mount method on the B5. It makes sense, but the FSM descriptions are very lacking in describing how to loosen the fastening points.
