I played it out of the Master Chief Collection at a friend's and it was College All Over Again. Including memory of seeing the leaked version before official release.

I miss being able to play a Halo game without the constant nagging in the back of my head about "the type of people who enjoy halo".

Thankfully they all moved to Call of Duty but they still... linger .

"this game is called halo 2 because you can hold 2 guns" lol
But seriously, how did SGTMJR Johnson and the Arbitur survive Halo 1?

2nd Halo is 2nd best Halo. So many exploits you can use in singleplayer to have more fun.

I respect your opinion. But you are wrong. CE will always be the best. 3 is probably realistically the most well-rounded so far. 2 was a broken, unfinished, rushed game in which a few figured out the exploits to and caused everyone else to not have fun.

CE has a boring campaign, 3's campaign feels very linear. 4's campaign is good, but 2's campaign is better. I mean, you play as the Chief and the Arbiter, and how they cross paths and how the Covenant and the Humans form a truce. I recently played it again and noticed so much more in the campaign. It's a really deep storyline.

The story, music, writing, etc in 2 were all phenomenal (definitely the best in the series). However actually PLAYING through 2's campaign is an exercise in patience for me. It's so unbalanced, to the point that I couldn't even bring myself to finish it again on MCC. Conversely, the gameplay through 1's campaign is so much more engaging to me, and I still play through the CE campaign every few months and enjoy it. Here are some of my issues, as I see them.
The Master Chief is an augmented supersoldier in power armor. In 2, he runs much slower, throws grenades (no offense) like a girl, and can't hold a basic sub machine gun in check without it climbing? Please.
The graphics in 2 are clearly better than in 1, but the art direction is much more cartoony, almost to a detriment.
The early Havoc engine that 2 uses allows for more advanced object-oriented physics, but anything heavy feels like it's made out of cardboard. Driving vehicles in 2 is just awful compared to 1, where everything feels just "right" as far as having weight, traction, flipping ghosts off of tanks, how vehicles move when near explosions, etc. This was improved in 3, Reach, and 4, but 2 just never felt "right".
2's campaign feels great in the first half, right up to and a little past "Delta Halo" but after that you can really tell Bungie was forced to cut entire levels out and were forced to stretch what was there to make it in time. The whole advertising campaign leading up to the release, the hype was all about saving earth, yet only like 20% of the game takes place there. Not to mention that ending...
As for multiplayer, no one can deny that it set the bar as far as how games should function online with the party system, ranking system, etc. However with superbouncing, BXR, and other glitches, it became a matter of "who is the best glitcher" rather than "who is the best player". That's not a good thing. Also, glitches aside, a H2 multiplayer match is more about seeing who can get to the power weapons first. In Halo 1, having a sniper or rocket will definitely give you an advantage, but the fact that EVERYONE spawns with a zoomable, 3-shot kill weapon makes it so even if you don't have rockets, you still have somewhat of a fighting chance.
