While bored, not doing what I'm supposed to,I did what any other oppo would do. Looked up some cars I either couldn't afford or would never pay that much of an msrp for. This falls under the latter. Here we have a search of near by ATS's. 2013, decent miles, 2.0T only. Yes, it's an auto, yes it's not the v6. But other than those, what's Oppo's opinions on the ATS? I love its curves, and HP/tq aren't that bad either. Better than what I have now ( no 2.5, only 2.0T). I'd never buy a car new, and the way these prices are going, this looks like a nice option to trade my coupe in for.

When I drove the 2.0T it was pretty zippy. Not a speed demon but definitely a cut above your typical commuter car. The interior felt a bit cramped to me, and I wasn't a huge fan of all the "piano black", but it was comfortable. Had all the options like navigation, blind spot warning, etc., seemed to work pretty well. Once again nothing special. I would definitely consider owning one at some point, if only to have something different from a 3 series.

Exactly. I have a little German fatigue. I'm not looking for fast as hell, just enough to have fun every once in a while (too many cops around). I'm pretty big, 6" 3, so interior might be an issue.

As far as the engines go, I've heard the 2.0T is the best option. It's also the cheapest to squeeze more performance out of it. It's not unheard of for an ECU tune to add another 40 HP and 70lb/ft of torque.
Your only real option for the V6 is adding a supercharger.

It didn't feel cramped in the height sense (although I'm only 5' 8"), more side to side than anything. Obviously you'll have to get in one to figure it out for yourself.

It was on the short list last time I was shopping for a DD. All around nice and definitely a contender except the dealers were just horrific. Every single step was like trying to force them to let me look at/buy the damned thing. I gave up after a while but think I would have been happy with the car.

From what I remember at last year's NY Auto Show:
1. Rear headroom is seriously lacking.
2. Piano black plastic = smudges on everything.
3. I'm not a fan of the buttonless, touch sensor center console.
Despite those issues, I really like the direction Cadillac is going and I hope the next-gen ATS addresses the issues I have (They won't).

The one thing i would be upset over is the cheap plastics. But i can't complain too much with my price range. I'd have to try the button less interface before i judge it, but word is use your phone.

I love this car, and want a 2.0T 6 speed manual badly. I've driven a 2.0T AWD (that means automatic only), and I was impressed. It's not a rocketship but it's quite quick. I'm sure it would be even faster in RWD due to less weight and less power loss in the AWD and autotragic trans. Also, being that it's turbo goodness, you have options if you really want more power - a tune will get you over 300HP easily, and then a company called VTTuner has a kit - he will port your stock turbo, clip the turbine, new compressor wheel, and then tune the car to work with it, and it will get you just shy of 400HP. And I think that whole package is under $2000.
The interior does feel a bit cramped, to me, and I drive a Cruze every day. There is very little rear leg room, again, less I think than in my Cruze. If you have to haul 4 adults, it would be doable for a short distance, but definitely not a pile your friends in and take a cross country road trip type car.
That said, I think it's a solid buy, used. You're going to get a lot of car for not a lot of money.
