And FWD..

Well-styled sports sedan? warm

286 HP 3.5L V6? warmer

6-Speed Manual? HOT. Getting HOT.

Front Wheel Drive? Cold.. So fucking cold.

So close... so close.

I've been meaning to make a post for like a year about how to save Acura, that basically amounts to "Type-R all the things". Seriously, Acura could conquer the market by positioning itself as the luxury marque for people who love to drive, now that BMW is more concerned with selling badges to boring people. All they need to do is make cars that are less "we made a Honda more expensive" and more "we made a race car more comfortable".

Also, Mugen saved Acura, with the Legend Max:

Kinja'd!!!

An RL with the V8 out of an ALMS car up front and rear wheel drive. The perfect car was right there. They built it for the show circuit. And then forgot about it.

It makes me genuinely sad to think about.

FWD isn't that bad. BTCC cars are FWD.

I drive a FWD car, but it's a hatchback. I don't mind FWD at all, but from the perspective of "performance" sedans, it's kind of out of place.

agreed, Ive driven fwd for years but now that I have a rwd car, it just makes so much more sense for making a sedan sporty.

Fwd kills the boner I have for honda/ acura... Like the s2k and original NSX were arguably some of the best sports cars, but Honda puts 2+2 and comes out with fwd hybrids

in toronto, a good tl (auto) is about 6-8K,

a similar TL-S with the manual is MORE then double that

A Japanese motor vehicle company already makes a TLR. It is faster and cheaper than what you describe:

Whatever. It was a shower thought anyway.

No, FWD suits that first-gen TL really well. "Performance" is not just one thing, after all — A shot-putter performs very differently from a sprinter, who performs very differently from a marathoner.

That TL's performance was "GT" oriented — great for driving highways to work, then taking the longer route home or enjoying sweepers on a road trip, not hooning and drifting.
