Very convoluted history. Built by Kaiser's Argentine subsidiary under license from American Motors, before Kaiser sold their North American automotive business to AMC, while selling their South American operations to Renault, which continued building the car under license from AMC for a few years. A few years later, Renault themselves took a controlling stake in AMC, which kind of reunited the two halves of Kaiser for a little while.
