Not that I can afford to do it right now, but I'm wondering if anyone on here has experience with either Holley or Edelbrock EFI conversion kits?

Just run a carb.

They cost a stupid amount of money and won't get you much advantage over a properly tuned carb besides being able to tune it with a tablet rather than a screwdriver.

As others have said, depends on what you need to do with it. Forced induction? Over 550 crank horsepower? I recently picked up a 625 street demon (owned by Holley now) phenolic bowl carter style carb and it's the best for a street/strip car bar none. I'd probably rock it on a race only car as well. Sold it to my chassis dyno tuner to backdate a 90's truck and he states it runs better than the oe efi. If I ever went stand alone with boost, multi stage nitrous, traction control etc; I've seen some wicked cars running the newest Holley system. .

You won't catch me saying this very often, and I don't mean to be clichéd, but couldn't you just swap to a sequential port injected LSx (or similar) for about the same amount of money?

If I had a Chevy, probably.

That's why I said or similar. Hemi or 5.4 Ford? I don't know what you drive...

79 F150. It would be more just for ease of use. No adjustments needed. If I modify the engine the computer adjusts. Not looking for big power since that would require a new transmission. The C4 isn't the strongest transmission in the world.

Ok that makes sense. That TBI setup should work pretty well I would think.

Yeah. Still too pricey for me, especially since it's no longer my dd. I lean towards the Edelbrock kit because it comes with a tablet and more functions and I already have some Edelbrock parts. Synergy right?

I didn't even realize there were two storage kits upthere until just now. The edelbrock still looks like tbi, but that is definitely the one I would go with.

They both are I believe. They do have kits for multi port but they're even pricier. These kits are basically plug and play with little to no modifications depending on the vehicle. I'll wait for prices to come down or my income to significantly increase.
