X6M for your time.

Kinja'd!!!

I was pulling the trigger on a 2014 328d I mentioned before. And I might not get that car now.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

I called my salesperson yesterday and he was struggle to find that car's key. It turns out someone in the dealership already take the car in possession and proceed to tint and replace the wheel. I didn't know I was that into this car but my heart sunk after heard that news. For unknown reason, my sales guy think there is a chance that transaction could fall through.

My sales guy is going to talk to their GM today and get back to me. I am feeling down since learned the news, but don't have any control over it. I have shipping company and wheels from classified forum lineup for my new car, and now I might be back to square one.

Btw, an over 100k 2014 X6M look like the above picture can be lease for less than $950 if you are interested.

update: car is gone.

If they've messed with it, bail. Get one that hasn't been molested. And X6M? It does nothing well. Get a Range Rover (in my humble opinion). Sports Activity Coupe my ass.

The later is the feeling I got. Like some punk kid in dealership got to mop this car and decide this is his next ride, proceed to do whatever he wants before he had his credit application go through.

I don't think the car was "sold" before I asked (otherwise my sales guy doesn't need to cook up the story and said he was going to GM, just inform me the car is sold.) But within 24 hours someone has already tinted and swapped the wheel, that sounds dubious.

I don't think it's any bait and switch you might heard on other cases. I have worked with this sales guy for six months, and I am pretty determine to find the car I like. Despite being sad, I don't mind continue to wait until I get my car, and he knows I couldn't possible be baited into other car he currently offered (since he shipped 30~40 cars a month, maintaining his reputation is probably bigger than the profit to sell me one car).

I respect your opinion a lot, Steve. But I don't think I am buying anything as big as X6M or RR. Just rare to see those and I see they have one with decent discount. If I were to plunge 100k, MCB M5 will be my pick.

Happened to me too.

I bought a Focus ST, only to have the dealer sell it out from under me. But they didn't tell me until AFTER we finished the paperwork and I paid for the car. It took weeks to undo everything and get my money back. I couldn't find a blue ST with ST3 package west of the Mississippi, and ended up having to order the car (through a different dealer, of course).

This is probably not very comforting, but at least your dealer/salesman is telling you the deal may fall through before you actually buy the car!

thanks for sharing. and that sucks for your last FoST, hopefully you are enjoying yours in good health!

I don't think the sales guy was playing me. Like I said, he sounded like just as shock, but didn't want to talk/judge in great detail (meaning truth might look bad on the dealership). He also mentioned it's an "internal" issue. So I don't think he or someone else sold it to outside customer.

I can see that happened, since people inside dealership probably have insight on what they recently score on auction. I was surprised that I was so attached to that car, especially after I hoon my Mazda3 last weekend and had lots of fun discovering the drivability of that car.

Yeah it sounds like they weren't intentionally screwing you, so that's good. (In my case I was told the dealership owner's son promised/sold the car to someone else, despite it being set aside and identified as going to me.)

I hope it all works out and you enjoy your new car as much as I'm enjoying mine!

I didn't mean you ... shit, very few people need a Rangie. I just hope you get the 3 series you want. Are you looking lightly used? CPO? And yeah - M5 - four doors, a decent boot, and more car than most of us could handle.

I am looking for factory demo that's available for lease. To me that's the best case for my situation. The car I want is sold. It has almost every options Torque Affair talked about on the other day. San the lane changing warning and speed info.

I will continue to search. I saw another car that's on a different dealer site, but so far it looks like they want to markup the money factor, which is non-negotiable for me.

Saw a Monte Carlo Blue F10 M5 on the other day traveling I90, what a machine.
