That doesn't look like a mainstream product, not sure if I should trust it, but the idea is interesting.

$110 USD is much cheaper than a roof rack

Seems like it's only available through that guy : !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

Here's a video of how it work

No. Nononono...no. skis are a big lever arm and it wouldn't take much to get expensive damage. You can get mag attached rack if you don't want a permanent install for not much more.

You can get a pair of skis into most superminis, lot alone a bigger car like an A4. Why on earth would you leave them outside at all?

It became more problematic when kids are occupying the rear seats, and when the trunk is full with the shit and gear of 4 people going a 5 days skiing trip

I'm not sure how much I'd trust that. I have a mag attached beacon on my vans roof and 70mph plus a gust of wind equaled this:

I wouldn't use one, but people do. Not for freeway speeds I assume

Nope. You can fit four people, skis, and all their gear for an entire season into a supermini, if you really try.

We don't travel that light.

Also, no ski trap in the rear seat of a focus st

We definitely weren't travelling light. And no room to use a ski hatch even if there'd been one. No room to move, either, so I wouldn't recommend it, but it wasn't the skis getting in the way.
