Kinja'd!!!

Episode 17 is up . The pic is from my radio DJ days - this was a place I played music at even though my later gigs were usually talk shows. There was a computer in the studio but I'm sure the radio guys will spot the cool cart decks behind me. Ahhh, good times.

It's been a busy week - a book I wrote came out Tuesday and I have been doing interviews and so on. In case you missed me yammering on about it, this is the book:

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

But enough about that. Here is this week's Episode of Lehto's Law :

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

This time, I give a run down of some of the actual lemon cases I've had in my office including !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! The cool thing is that the podcast itself is gaining steam. It recently crossed the 8,000 cumulative-listen mark and one of the pieces is over 800 all by itself.

You can check out the full list on Soundcloud or at iTunes: !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

Onward and upward! And thanks for listening.

I'll be listening tomorrow.

Who's the top Aussie suburb now? Did Bundoora take back the reins from Toorak yet?

Edit: congratulations on the book coming out.

New favorite podcast Steve.

Ever do any Volvo cases around the years 1999-2002?

Thanks. This week a Canadian town blew away all the Australians. It'll probably lead to an international incident.

Thanks. Not that I remember. The bulk of my cases are domestic. People in Detroit buy a lot of American cars and the dealers act like they can do anything and still count on the business. So, they keep me busy.

I didn't know you were in radio at one point. I got my ass thrown off the air long ago for something that I hear daily these days. Just a different time. And it was college radio and I was in high school ("relations" with the station manager helped my cause). Tuesday rush hour though, in the 90's. I thought I was a king

I only ask because years and years ago Volvo switched from a throttle cable to a electronic throttle and had enough failures to warrant extending the warranty on it to 10 years and 200,000 miles. Having owned several of the affected cars it's pretty interesting when one fails.

I worked in radio on and off for about 20 years (half of that while I was already an attorney). All in Michigan. From 1981 until last year believe it or not.

Things have changed in radio in that time.

I can imagine. Keep in mind that for it to be a lemon in MICH (And many states) the defect must first appear within the first year of ownership. I have been aware of many problems across platforms that did not qualify because they manifested themselves after the one year.

Steve! There's an '02 Ford Explorer sport 5MT with 70k on it near me in the same green yours was in. Buy it!

alot has changed for sure. I work with some ex-dj's in advertising and some of the stories from the 80's are ridiculous. Especially at CCC in Hartford, where Stern came out of.

I got shocked when I asked "so how much cocaine did you do"

Off topic but how did you like Southwestern law school? Going to apply soon and it's one of my options.

Loved it. I did the SCALE program (2 years). Very intense (50% washout rate).

Funny how that works. What were you expecting - older? Younger? Some kind of James Earl Jonesish booming authority-type voice?

I have a typical midwestern accent and I often talk too fast.

Va, a little outside DC. They're asking $5800 but I would totally snag it as a winter beater for $4500.

The one I got is in immaculate condition. It spend its entire life in FLA and is unbelievably clean, even underneath. I climbed under it was blown away. It runs and drives almost like new. I paid under $5K for it.

I enjoyed the podcast! The ford issue with the transmissions is 100% true. I just settled the transmission issue with my mom's Escape.... 3 transmissions in before they finally bought it back.. YAY!

Great Podcasts I look forward to every one!

Thanks. I like Ford but that transmission thing is amazing. Like I mentioned, I even had a rental with that transmission. I couldn't believe they would call that a "normal" condition.

I completely agree, it took us commencing Lit for Ford to finally send a rep out to look at the car and then things moved pretty quickly. I'm a Ford guy too (88 Mustang GT and a 99 Econoline Van) both of which i've never had an issue with. I looked further in to the situation and noticed that the majority of the problems were with with 4cyl model transmissions. Either way it was a learning experience.

Listening to your podcast now (it's great! definitely subscribed), just passed the part in one where you mentioned scams when you're trying to sell a car. Maybe in a future podcast you can discuss scams in private party purchases in more detail and your legal remedies (however limited they may be) if you DO get scammed.

As someone who has worked for attorneys for a few years, I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedule to produce articles and podcasts for us.

I forgot to mention it! Cambridge, Ontario Canada was the top English-speaking non-US city but LISBON, Portugal was the #1 city for the whole week! I have no idea why.
