Watch out for bikers (motorized and non), and be prepared for some construction zones. It's a beautiful drive, though. Enjoy!

The restaurants on it north of San Luis Obispo were crazy overpriced in my opinion.. Also there is no cell reception on some parts of the drive, so make sure you have some local files saved if you use a music streaming service.

I live in SLO. Do Highway 1 from Morro Bay to Monterey as early in the morning as you can; it's a fucking zoo on weekends, every other car a rented Mustang or Camaro between buses & campers. Then cut over either Hwy 68 in Monterey to 101N, or Hwy 17 in Santa Cruz direct to San Jose, unless you want to go all the way up to Half Moon bay or SF & backtrack.

I'll keep that in mind, thank you. Might be leaving Thursday night and end up driving through the night.

I don't have unlimited data so I just play songs already on my phone, and I'm too poor to go to restaurants, but thanks. Do you know about how much of the route has no cell reception? Will it be for tens of miles at a time?

sorry I'm not entirely sure.. I've only noticed it when I had to stop for lunch and went to check my phone.. I didn't notice on the drive cause I have all my music on my phone too.

Ah ok. Either way, not that big of a problem. Thanks!
