Shit, thats better than I thought
![]() 02/04/2015 at 11:59 |

Amen. Big-blocks solve everything. I bet if Stephen Harper had a big-block, he wouldn't be half as bad.

I see what you are going for, but its a little unfair to do hp/liter on lazy low revving high torque engines.
but since we are playing that game, the Toyota 2F engine had 32 hp/liter.

My NB Miata has 77.7778 per liter (according to the factory rating at the crank), and my FoST has 126 per liter.

Hoping to improve that number for the miata eventually with a little forced induction in the form of a supercharger, but that's a ways out yet I think. Though hopefully it'll go up to ~86.1 after a few bits get here and I get them on the car.

My 99' A6 Avant Quattro V6 I feel like is about 180hp by now so... 64HP/L
My sister in laws '13 Camry V6 on the other hand.... 77 HP/L
I mention the Camry because it is the best HP/L in the family fleet lol

Stock or modified? The standard out put non-HO 5.0 my Cougar rolled off the assembly line with was right there with you 30/L. Now the figure is the flywheel is around 80.... It's amazing how choked up '80's motors are in stock form. The supercharger on my 4.6 takes me to over 103/l on that motor at the flywheel, roughly 88 at the tires. My bone stock 2.0 in a 2012 Focus gets 80/l at the flywheel.
Let's do some math there with the first and last figures.... non H.O. 5.0 V8 stock has less advertised HP than a new 2.0. The engines are in vehicles that are 25 years apart.
I for one am thankful for the plethora of aftermarket support for early fuel injected V8 cars. I'm also thankful the malaise era is behind us with regards to performance. Ido ever so much love some of the styling it gave us though.
