Not sure if I'm a bigger RWD or Rally fanboy.
LOL WHO AM I KIDDING? Definitely rally, you can still drift the Quattro.

Photographic evidence of the general batshit crazyness of this type of rally fan.

Four rings to bring them all and in enjoyment bind them :) Audi wins this one. I do love me a E30, but damn.

Can always rally with RWD.... That being said, it's a Quattro!

There is something about that noise it makes I'd say.. Not quite a rumbling V8, not quite a screaming Inline 4.

Solid choice. But if we're talking RWD and rally my mind goes to one thing.

Had the same thought, quattro would be really helpful in Michigan.
But I'm making it just fine!

Samesies. It sucks, because the rallyX organizers in my area aren't very organized. They tend to not release schedules until a week or two before the event, then always time it so that it overlaps with other events in the area. So annoying....

I'm biased, but god I love that Audi. E30 is awesome, but Quattro all the way.

Isn't that just a badging/trim difference?

Nope. The 200 was the second gen of the 5000 sedan. It was a rebadging, sure, but the chassis and engine and drivetrain are new or heavily updated. Example - 5000 had quattro gen 1. You could manually lock the center and rear diffs. Gen 2 quattro had a selectable electronic lock for the rear diff only but the center diff was a lot better. Also the second gen had a limited slip diff in the rear, if I recall.

I had a quattro for 13 years and loved it despite its flaws. Life with a quattro road car is not all fire-breathing oversteer, unfortunately. I passed up several E30 M3s in that time, when they were affordable. I still want one.

In my old age (25) I stopped regularly drifting and now keep it to snowy roads. I know road Quattro's aren't fire breathing, but I'd be willing to bet they still like to slide a bit on the white stuff.
Also I am insanely jealous of your drive time for those 13 years.
