This just showed up in the local classified

I'd definitely call it a NP, but I feel like you would much rather have a Toronado or Riviera. They had the 3800 V6, which made around the same power as the HT4100, and were much more reliable. The HT4100 really kind of sucked. For $600, I wouldn't worry about it much, but don't expect it to be immensely reliable.

It's a '91. The HT4100 was phased out in 1987. Should have the L26 4.9 in it 200hp/275tq.

NP. Especially if the interior is clean and all the switches/electronic controls are in working order.

These have a TV cable setup on the trans just like the Ford AOD (save for the fact it's FWD). Be mindful of the cable and make sure it's in proper working order. Make sure the car has all forward gears and the fluid is fairly clean.

Oh, duh. I should have remembered that. Good call. The L26 is a hell of a lot better than the HT4100, so long as the maintenance was kept up correctly.

I would have said it was a NP even with the HT4100. The L26 just sweetens that deal a lot more. I would definitely say go for it.

A work colleague had one same year same color in the late '90's. He did up a custom exhaust on it. It sounded glorious! He got the car for a rather cheap price and it was immaculate in and out.

Nice! I've never really seen any that were modded, so I'm sure it was a cool sight to see. While I'm not a massive fan of them, I kind of wish there were more around.
