This is how the steering wheel looks on the new car.
Leave it uncovered? Or put this steering wheel cover on it? I'm leaning towards a cover, as it better fits the style of the vehicle, and since I do a lot of driving, it'll prevent some of the wear and tear on it. I'm not sure which cover I like better, but I'm kind of leaning towards the dark one with the "chrome" looking accent. Your thoughts?

I put a cover on mine, it looked about the same. The main reason was that it was sticky and I hated the feel of it. Best bet is to have it re-stitched or replaced, but a cover works fine, try and stick with the beige color and it blends in and you hardly notice it after a while.

I too like the dark one.

Crap, crap, megacrap. I'll give you two hundred bucks for all of 'em.

I'm not a fan of steering wheel covers. Get some lexol and clean it every few weeks and you'll be fine.

I had the dark one before on my Infiniti J30, but never removed it after I wrecked the car. I liked the way it felt, and it got to the point that I never really noticed it was on, but then again it was an all black interior. This one being tan, I may go with the lighter one to blend in better as you said. Replacing or restitching the wheel altogether isn't a bad idea, but the material on it is still in excellent condition, given the overall mileage of the car, and it would be more expensive.

So do I. I'm just worried about it clashing with the lighter colored interior. On its own, I do like it more, though.

I don't really like the way either of them look to be honest. The previous owner of my Civic had a plain black leather cover that matched the wheel perfectly sewn onto the wheel. Feels much nicer than the standard material, and it's almost impossible to tell it's not the stock wheel. Since he did it to a Civic I can't imagine it was crazy expensive. Might be worth it if you're looking to put a 100k on this car.

From the picture, the lighter one seems to have a yellow tint to it which I don't care for. I like the dark one for an accent color.

I plan to put as many miles on it as I can before it goes out to pasture. It has a hair under 250,000 on it right now, so I hope I can get another 100k out of it, but I see no reason I wouldn't be able to.
That is a thought though. If it's not expensive, then maybe I can try to do something like that.

I see what you mean. I'd have to go to Walmart to look at it in person though, just to be sure.

a restiched wheel for my cruiser is like $100, expensive, but no super expensive. Im considering it when I get around to refreshing the interior.

That's not awful. I'm only paying $800 for the car itself, and it doesn't need really anything to make it roadworthy. It's not an investment I'd make immediately, but maybe a little later on.

Good idea.

It looks like the wheel has already seen it's share of wear and tear. I wouldn't worry about a cover for it, just clean it up.

Yeah, it definitely has some wear, but with a quarter million miles on it, I'm not too surprised. I'll clean it up once I take delivery, and see how it looks.

My Mustang had one of those stretch to fit steering wheel covers on it when I bought it, and it tore the leather up pretty badly coming off - the leather steering wheel stuck to the inside of the cover. I would not recommend a stretch to fit cover.
If you really want a cover though, I would recommend a WheelSkins cover. I put one of those on my Mustang to fix the messed-up leather. Lots of styles and colors available, and it only took me about an hour to stitch. I wouldn't know what happens when you try to take one off though.

This and maybe a magic eraser. Lookup Larry Kosillas guide on interior cleaning for techniques.
