Just bored waiting for Wraith to finish downloading and wanted to see what kind of cars your parents are into. Nothing serious so POST AWAY!!!
My Dad has a thing for Panteras. If I'm someday able to afford it I'll definitely get him one.
And my mom broke a deal with me. She said if I get her a Mustang she'll get her license. Guess she's gonna be waiting on that for a while. Her choice.

My dad's dream car was a Passat. Then he got one, he will forever hate all VAG products now. He had such a bad experience he bought a base model Accord after his Passat. But now he has moved on and loves his WRX.
My mom wants a C class or 3 series, but doesn't think the price is justifiable.

Hahahaha you dads experience had me actually burst out laughing. There was a brief moment my old man was obsessed with getting a Volks CC but that died the moment he asked a random owner about it and they were ready to sell it to him on the spot because of the maintenance and issues. What year is his WRX?
And your mom is absolutely right. The price for those things new is absolutely preposterous. Have you recommended she look at ones that are CPO? There are nice deals to be found there since BMWs depreciate like crazy when new.

I don't understand this line of thinking. "I had a steak that was overcooked. I will forever hate steak from here on out".. Everyone has bad experiences with cars. Swearing off an entire manufacturer is a knee jerk reaction. Not to mention all the brands in VAG.. Audi/Porsche/Bentley/Lamborghini/Bugatti/Skoda/Seat etc. etc etc.. That's a huuuuge chunk.

After driving Honda Accords for years, my dad bought a Z3 about five years ago. He DDs it, even during the winter, and it seems to be holding up real well.
He also drove a '72 Cutlass Supreme back in the late '80s/early '90s, and he's said many times that he regrets selling it.

Lol. I would recommend the Honda Element but it's not breaking records on fuel efficiency. For being a brick with curves it does do decent by getting into the mid-20s I believe.

Oh I agree the Ram's are great right now, definitely wouldn't be upset if he got one of them. My grandfather has had GM trucks for a while and I've spent a lot of time around them and working on them, so that's what makes my preference GM. I do like what Ram is offering right now quite a bit though.

About the Cutlass, I don't really know. They weren't too bad last time I checked. I think I saw a nice one for maybe $15,000? The 442s are more than double that, of course.
And yes, the Z3 is the most fun car I've driven to date. I don't exactly get around that much, but it's still a great car. More fun than the NB Miata I drove.

My dad prefers something around this vintage. Late 60s or early 70s Impala.
My mom prefers something around this vintage. 72/73 Cutlass Supreme. She actually had one in this color.
Might as well include myself. I think most of Oppo knows I have a thing for Mustangs. From debut to about 1969. Then again from 2005 onwards. I'll make an occasional exception for a 70s vintage, but the 80s fox bodies are a big nope for me. ^_^

I don't think she has. She currently has a red 2000 convertible with the V6 and a manual, and she sometimes mentions that a new one would be nice, but I think she only saw the 2005-2014 models. Not like she drives it much anyway - her 'Stang has less than 70k kilometers on it.

Dad was very much a car nut... He really wanted to put a 13B in a MGB GT, or to build a 440-powered Fury III wagon, and his daily, before he passed, was a FC RX-7.
Mom wants a ND. She has a NC now, but she really wants the ND, since she's seen it.
I came down on Dad's side, and want a Vista Cruiser with the Wildcat 455, or a Datsun 2000 Roadster, much like the matching pair my parents had as DDs, when I was born.

I guess all VAG is exaggerating. Just Audi and VW really. And I don't think a $25,000 mistake or whatever it was could make it knee jerk to not want another car from that brand. Especially when they're known for issues. His favorite car ever was his old Scirocco, plenty of other manufacturers to try.

Father: (owns) 1969 Corvette (454 hot rod); (wants) New Cadillac CTS-V, Newest Gen Corvette, Hellcat, or a Rausch F-150 and then also a 1969 Road Runner (his high school car).
Mother: 1969 Camaro (preferably SS) or a brand new Camaro.
