IMAX wins. I heard sounds that I didn’t know existed and it sounded like there was an orchestra behind the screen.
The attention to detail with the sounds was impeccable. I mean, the sound of snowflakes that are hitting the sabers? AND YOU CAN SEE THE FLAKES THAT ARE CAUSING THE SOUNDS? Awesome.

I did sound design for a little while, and things like this make me regret not turning it into a career.

IMAX dome, however, isn’t as good.

The screen is one thing, but you nailed it on the sound of Imax making the difference. The Millennium Falcon’s gun fired for the first time and I remembered thinking: “damn,” in the Imax theater.

I only see Nolan films in IMAX because they’re the only ones immune from the 3D infestation.

Ben Burtt is god. Seriously. He’s amazing. My favorite Star Wars-related thing is learning where he sourced all the sound effects. Like how Threepio’s movement sounds are the power window motor out of a 60’s Cadillac.

Ours was one of 15 in the US that had the 70mm 2D film. It was amazing.

NIIIIIICE. There was one playing in Indianapolis, but it was a dome.

I wanted to see it in IMAX but anything in higher quality was in 3D only. I saw the Dark Knight in IMAX 2D and it was beautiful. The only 3D movies I’ve seen really strain the eyes and give me headaches.
Still, it was an enjoyable movie, I’m looking forward to the next one.

I went to the Indiana State Museum IMAX and it certainly wasn't a dome. It's only like $15 as well.

Nope, that's why you find a 2D laser IMAX theatre. Then have your mind blown.

I saw it regular.
