Year 2015 is coming to an end. As is tradition, car manufacturers killed a few cars this year. Let’s look at the cars we lost this year, cars that will not see the new year.
May they all rest in peace.
Honda Crosstour (2010-2015)
Jaguar XK (1997-2015)
Jeep Patriot/Compass (2007-2015)
Volkswagen EOS (2007-2015)
Mini Cooper Coupe/Roadster (2012-2015)
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution (1992- March 2016)
Toyota Venza (2009-2015)
Nissan xTerra (1999-2015)

With the notable exceptions of the Evo and maybe the Jag, good riddance.

Yeah, nothing of value was lost this year.

Isn’t Toyota doing away with the FJ sometime soon as well?
Edit: It’s already gone.

That goes double for the Jeep Patriot/Compass.

I think it died in 2014.

why is this car hated so much? people seem to love the renegade and other jeeps so why is this one any different?

The xB was lost this year, too, but the Compass is still alive. Kind of sad about some of the losses, like the xTerra and the Venza; if only they’d been redesigned a few years ago.

Yep you’re right.

Because it was fucking Dodge Caliber, one of the worst car of the millennium.

The Xterra was a capable SUV, nothing like the mall crawler it’s been replaced with.
I also liked the Camry wagon quite a bit.

I kinda like the Mini.

Friend has a new Xterra, they seem pretty good.

This.

One of the great things about the Mini is its box-like practicality. The coupe completely eliminates that, and looks like a bro with his baseball hat on backwards.

The Venza was still being made? They must have been selling like <1000 a month for the last couple years (that or I'm blind or they sell in very particular markets)...haven’t seen a new one in ages. Still saw fairly recent Xterras and Compass/Patriots somewhat regularly.

The Xterra isn’t bad at all. But in a market saturated with various SUVs, it’s unremarkable.

Goodbye, Lancer Evo X. You could’ve lived on and been re-invented, had your creators not lost interest in making cars.

You’re missing a slew of things, including the Mazda5
North America’s brief flirtation with sensibility. It’s still warm carcass is set to be mauled by an unrelenting wave of bigger on the outside, smaller on the inside, same speed but lower MPG CUVs for the foreseeable future.

True for North America, but the Premacy is not dead elsewhere in the world.

The 2 door M3? We lost that. It became a M4

I’m glad all of them are gone. The XK had it’s time, but I think the F Type is better in every way. The Evo has been going through the motions long enough, update it or put it out of it’s misery. Same with the Xterra really.

wasn`t this like back in 2013 ?

I don’t think so. Maybe it was......

I’ll miss the Jag, Lancer, and Xterra.

I’m actually gonna miss the Venza, I thought it actually looks pretty okay. Wanted one since it first got announced and now I’m watching it get discontinued.

Where I live in western wisconsin, our Honda dealer is selling Crosstours like hotcakes. I see them all the time in town. In fact his used inventory always has a couple that I assumed he scarfed up from the big city. They are a big thing here, it would be interesting to know why........

Anyone else scroll through this list and though, “Wait, they were still making that?” on...oh, just about every one?

That car made way too much sense to survive. Honestly, only Mazda would be crazy enough to even attempt such a thing.

the Lancer is the only one that i’ll miss.

i am a bit sad about the xk. the f type is indeed better in every way, but that’s mostly because it was conceived and designed in this century. the original XK (and a new XK should they decide to revive it) should be a big GT car without sporting intentions, a DB9 competitor rather than the vantage competitor that is the F type.
![]() 01/07/2016 at 12:22 |

goodbye XK. hopefully jaguar will revive you someday.
goodbye Xterra, you had a singular purpose, and you should be applauded for that precision.
goodbye evo. i dont know why, but i feel like i should fare the well.
the rest of you can be sent to the scrap heap.

Not the Mini!
