How would you modify your currently daily driver to be the ultimate daily driver? I’d slap on a turbo, a better functioning radio and better seats. How about you?

6 speed swap from a CL type s and maybe a slight 1” drop

I am getting old(er).

Fat tires, softer spring rate, upgraded shocks AND the biggest front and rear sway bars I can find.

Bonus points for all new bushings.

I’d be happy with a 2” lift, a radio with an aux input, an M90 from a Super Coupe and new seat foam on the driver seat.

Raise it one inch, put on some dirt tires and a skid plate, a set of four fog lights on the bumper, a small roof rack (with more lights and a spare tire) and a functional snorkel along with a turbo and stuff after swapping in a GT engine. And an AWD conversion. And a roll cage. Oh, and a manual transmission with both a stick and paddle shifters for when I feel lazy.

That way I’d have a hard time not driving it every single day.

But just to make it better for day-to-day stuff? GT engine swap for more power, a passenger airbag for more safety, and maybe better speakers.

1uz swap, double t case, lower on custom suspension, 1ton axles, lower it and set it up for all of the flex ever, 40 inch tires... it snows here ;) DD is a 88’ Yota pickup, haha

I’d give the 4Runner a 1KZ diesel, install an OME 2” HD Lift(2 inch drop from current), restore the interior, get new wheels and narrower tires, rebuild the front end, replace the windshield, and install functioning speakers. Oh, and make sure all the gauges work.

Better seats, locking differential, and the V6 drivetrain out of the current Edge. It’s a Mariner, BTW.

Besides a 6-speed manual, I don’t see how I can modify my Pilot because it’d be pointless.

You can put a spankin’ supercharger. You’ll probably need a FAA license to drive that Pilot afterward....

Full mechanical restoration, plus some nice heated cloth seats, and a bit of upgraded/updated audio.

I like my car a lot, If everything was fixed, and the seats were comfortable it would be a great daily.

My existing ride is a 12-year-old Mazda6 sedan, so I’d want a new wagon body to put over the existing unibody, swap in a Mazdaspeed6 powertrain, replace the wonky radio/HVAC display, and put some grippier tires on it.

Or, since a solid restoration/body swap would cost as much as a hefty down payment on a Jaaaaaaaaaaag XF, find a way to have an XFR-S Sportbrake imported here. Or suck it up and get an F-Pace, even though I think that’s a dumb name. And apparently it’s a taller XE wagon/estate, so the F is a misnomer.

Oh, wait, I forgot about the Volvo V60 Polestar.

Tundra V8 + Supra 6 speed. That'll wake the Camry up. Or maybe just trade it in for a WRX.

Alfa 156 2.5l V6.

Only a couple of things I’d really like to do. Probably swap in the 3.0l from a GTV, maybe upgrade the brakes slightly and put the sportpack springs on it (slightly stiffer than stock, but not as stiff as aftermarket so still a nice cruiser).

Maybe a Q2 torsen diff, but that’s not strictly necessary :)

Oh, it's already got a stainless cat-back (could probably do with a less cheaply made one) and the anti-roll bars from a GTA Sportwagon (slightly stiffer than stock up front, proportionally more stiffness at the rear).

I’m not sure a 944 could ever be an “ultimate” daily driver, but putting carpet back in and adding some soundproofing would probably help a bit.

If I had the budget to build an ultimate daily, I’m thinking a small SUV with a good stereo, uber-comfy seats, and a high-end long-travel suspension to soak up the Michigan roads. Probably a DCT instead of a manual because traffic, and aa nice efficient engine with decent pep, maybe a little turbodiesel or something.

Starting here:

Kinja'd!!!

Repaint in the same color with a light metal flake, fill the inside with so much sound deadener that it feels like you’re inside a coffin. Interior is actually pretty good, I’ve already got black leather from a CVLX, but I’d like a console and buckets from an LX Sport or Marauder. A little quieter exhaust, cruise control, Bluetooth, and a big damn supercharger and I’m good to go.

It occurs to me that I can do all of that relatively easily.

5th gear from an Integra LS is a common swap into my short geared trans, drops the revs at highway speeds by ~1000rpm.

and a little suicide door, like the RX8 had. I drive my kids everyday, and two doors is acceptable, but not as convenient as it could be.

long list but:

- 4Motion AWD

-Stage2+ with the engine, and a stage 2 clutch.

-Replace stock seats with Leather Heated/Cooled Recaros. massage feature would be nice too.

-Replace RCD510 with RNS510 (basically do OEM VW nav swap)

-tint windows slightly

-Replace 225/40/R18 tires and 18X7.5 rims with 245/40/R18 tires and 18X8.5 rims (does include having the fenders done to accommodate)

-Air suspension (set up for both comfort and for the option to stiffen it for spirited driving)

-Full-Glass roof.

-Heated/Cooled cup holders for my drinks.

-even more direct steering.
