I need a bulb for the foglight. the internets all over the place on replacement parts, so i’ll probably pull one for verify. I’ve seen everything; H3, H5, H7, H7LL, H11. I was thinking yellow, definitely not the blue.

Kinja'd!!!

is it ok to go with an LED replacement or should I stick with a conventional bulb.

It also took me like 10 minutes this morning to get the gas lid open. I couldn;t find the damn release button under the dash. turns out there isn’t one

Lol, peasant.

When the doors lock, the fuel door locks. When the car is unlocked, you can open it.

Unrelated question, do those things (allroad) have any sort of low-range gearing? Or maybe some kind of faux-range like new CVT subarus do?

thats interesting. my mother-in-law has a tiguan and that door has some sort of spring release when you push on the door it releases. it also broke so it was real difficult to get it to release

If it’s just the DRL, I’d say you’d be fine. Otherwise, depending on where you live, D.O.T. compliance may be an issue.

This should be a removable feature IIRC. On my E46 there’s a pull cord that removed the lock rod for the fuel door, so it can be operated regardless of doors being locked/unlocked.

i’m pretty sure its the switch activated fog light, its just below the bumper.

I think some of the LED kits are for appearance only, and don’t actually improve performance of the fog lights. I would stick with conventional bulbs unless you can find a kit that shows an improvement in distance.

D’oh! I was thinking they were for the headlamp assemblies for some reason. Well, in that case, yellow would be best (less diffusion/reflection in foggy conditions) and you should be fine.

have you reached out to deautokey.com yet? They do pretty well in the vw/audi community for LED kits and could be knowledgeable with the platform. I’m not sure if you would need to have leds with or without the resistors/ballasts. I do also know they produce a variety of LED kits intended for fog light use and can say the quality is on point and they have a great lifetime warranty.
