Now that actual winter weather is back upon us, The ‘52 Buick Super is back in the barn after its 5 day Christmas adventure. But we had a great time with it, and it definitely got a lot of looks on the road. When’s the last time you saw a car like this on the road, let alone during Christmas?

See you again soon (hopefully), Buick.

Gorgeous. Also sell me your Audi when you’re done with it...if thats a thing that could happen.

You’ll have to find it yourself, sadly. I sold it almost exactly two years ago. But the good news is that they’re cheap, so if you can find one within 500 miles of you, go for it! Just be prepared for unimaginable horrors followed by the best snow hooning you’ve ever done.

I can personally confirm both the unimaginable horrors and the awesome hooning. I wish I could weigh the rusted metal that fell into my eyes while I was working on that thing. The T-belt job was pretty fun, though.

You just won Christmas, well done! Be sure to share more of that beauty once the salt is gone!

Did you have to go out for Chinese because the Bumpuses’ dogs ate your turkey? [I know, the one from the movie was ‘37 Oldsmobile.]

I only had one mishap the whole time. When the engine was still cold, I floored it in Drive to demonstrate how slowly the Dynaflow transmission accelerates the car regardless of accelerator pedal position, and instead of going forward, the engine died. Then it decided it wouldn’t crank over. We pushed it to the side of the road, and then it started up like nothing happened. No problems the rest of the time! The only brave part is braking. Just have to be careful when using 4-wheel unassisted drum brakes and no power steering, haha.

Good lord that thing is lovely. Usually I’m more about vintage Volvo steel sleds but the matching roof & character line brightwork is entirely timeless. They should be repeating that kind of consistency across all their models todaay. Instead we get a goddamn Chevy traverse in lipstick.

Already been there I had a mint condition coupe in the same Tornado red whose nylon timing gear went after a bad shift. I’ve been missing and looking ever since.

Oh, nice! Honestly you’re better off without my rusty old Audi. Finding a better example shouldn’t be TOO hard.

Well on Christmas Eve I did see my neighbor driving his 1932 Ford Model B Woodie. When he pulled into his driveway, I realized he has the perfect house for an old car like that, an old Victorian, with wrap around porch, a farm field out front Looking in my rearview mirror all I could see was his house, with him driving up to it. I swear I had suddenly time traveled back to the 1930's. But that was Christmas Eve... and with no snow, and no Christmas lights out, it may as well have been fall.. So for Christmas.. you Win.

I don’t know, that sounds like a beautiful scene. Maybe not quintessentially “Christmas,” but really cool nonetheless.

It was, never really felt like I just time travelled like that before. I've often felt like I was in a movie, but never like I just travel though time.
