Kinja'd!!!

We saw from Flavien Vidal’s post the other day that the DS (the Goddess) is beginning to go out of our league as people pile in looking for profit.

So, how about its successors?

First up is the CX. Haven’t seen one for a very long time, never as Citroen-ish as the DS so you can get a decent one for the price of two bags of peanuts and a pint?

Er, no, or not necessarily. If you want a lwb Prestige, and of course you do because Prestige, it’ll cost you.

One !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! for €6,000 and of course you’ll have to go to France.

Willing to put up with regular length and a conventional three speed automatic? !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! but it’s still €5,000.

Want an estate with low mileage and from a dealer? !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! Yes, I’m sure there’s a catch.

Need a restored lwb one? !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! €18,500 though.

Maybe we should continue to the XM, made through the 90s.

Good news! You can get cheap, running ones. Bad news: can’t see it becoming collectible.

!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! €2,000 and it’s even got a pair of airbags.

Prefer to run on diesel? !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Twice as much in fact.

Want one you could import to America next year? Want to chance one that seems to be sitting in a field? !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! €700 worth of diesel power. Only 81 bhp mind because NA but you won’t see another. Oh, and it’s a Seduction.

So there you have it. If you want to buy a big, squishy Citroen, act now or take your chances with an XM sitting in a field.

The XM will be classic. Much better design than the CX (still looks modern!), and is from a period where Citroëns were more reliable. Perhaps not as bonkers as the others, but compared to everything else from the 90’s it stands out quite a lot.

Don't drag me for this but I've never understood the whole Citroen appeal beyond like quirky novelty piece much like a home decor piece you pick up from anthropologie or urban outfitters

The C6 will be more classic. Not many made, the last big Citroen.

The last so far? I completely agree with it being a future classic.

(Checks for prices, finds three 2007 ones for just under €10,000)

Still some way to fall and they still cost nearly €2,000 a year in road tax so unfortunately it’ll be along time before people want them.

Only one for sale in Norway (no, not the one related to Happy Panda on here), asking 288,000 NOK. Not bad for a mint top of the line car from 2007, but it’s still a bit too weird for most people.

That’s one hell of a price for an eight year old car!
