But it’s a Volkswagen!
But it can’t do more than 100,000 miles/160,000 km without everything electrical failing twice over!
But everything will fall off!
But....and so on and on. And on and on.
Nevertheless a second hand dealer evidently expects to get around €9,000 for it and will probably guarantee it for a few months.
Yes, it’s a picture by potato. So deal with it.

Like all cars that have ever existed, some are good and some are bad. Even if it’s the exact same car made at the same time. Still, 9,450 seems a bit much for an 09 Passat

A 340k kilometre Passat for 9.000€ ??. Wow, the seller must be on some dangerous drugs.

Crack Pipe on that price unless it had 75% less mileage OR the last zero is removed from the price.

Buyers, possibly. Dealer, not so much as they know their market.

But who would spend 9k on a high milage Passat? There are Passats of similar vintage with less than half the miles starting at about 7 grand. (Although the cheaper ones are of course gasoline powered)

You couldn’t give away a petrol car of this vintage and size due to a change in annual road tax in 2008 to a CO2 based system.

Didn’t know that.

Is that tax actually backdated in Ireland, then? Main reason I’m glad my 106 is pre-2001 is that it saves me a fair bundle on road tax, since I still get taxed on displacement rather than emissions. I’d be screwed if they started taxing me on CO2.
EDIT: Whoops, read the registration date as 2000 instead of 2009.
