Well, how else are you supposed to eat an oil filter?

I have a bunch of used oil filters I’ve been meaning to do this to, but I was going to use a pipe cutter.

What did you discover?

Did you crush the filter media or did it collapse on its own? The canister looks pretty mangled there.

I did have an unorthodox method of stabbing it open and I did hit the filter a few times but I doubt all of the filter damage was done by me

Looks to be of the same quality as German filters on the inside.

I normally would use a wix but the only good filter autozone had in stock for my car was a K&N filter

I was going to use a pipe cutter but it was the only thing big enough to hold my beer /sarcasm

The only bad things I found was the filter element kinda disintegrated as soon as i pulled it out but that could of been my bad because the knife i was using did hit it once.

Maybe I’ll open up my next filter to see what the difference is.

I use the Purolator One Gold ones...mainly because I like the grip on the outside lol.

My analysis:

It’s a filter.
