First I had to get him to the airport. I can drive his RWD, bald snow-tired truck better then he can...He couldnt get it out of the spot. (packed ice all around it...it was very slushy yesterday and it froze overnight)

As it turns out, it just needed more liberal application of the loud pedal :D

The Ranger is one of the finest automobiles for snow driving imaginable. A couple sandbags in the back might help your hole shot too.

no sand bags and nearly bald winters.

Also, its ONLY RWD. no 4X4

Its was fun.

Eh, 4x4 only helps you get going. You’re probably better off without it.

In college I used to get a ride to class with a kid from New Jersey in his then-new Jetta. One morning I’m especially hung over and he can’t get it out of the parking space (front wheels in a snow/ice divot). He sheepishly asked me to push and I said, no. Let me drive. Do you want me to push? He asked. Nope I’m all set. A little rocking and a lot of throttle, no problem. I did this same thing lots of times for helpless fellow students who couldn’t get their cars out of snow-packed parking spaces. “Can you push?” No. Just let me drive. Trust me it will be way easier.

If you drive it in reverse, it’s like having FWD.

The ranger steps out real nice on left turns in slick conditions. Just like the photo. Right turns aren't nearly as dramatic or fun.
