Anyone know the origin of this meet? I don’t see any obvious affiliation with Our Favourite Automotive Website (TM), but this happens every month in Redwood City, CA. My first time out here, and it seems that they are on good terms with the local po-po.
From what I heard, this month was the biggest turnout so far with what appeared to be over 100 cars.
The crowd was quite a mix of predominantly Japanese metal; I was surprised to find the biggest group of cars was a crowd of at least 10 Nissan GT-Rs, one of which sported a huge rear wing being used for its intended purpose:
holding drinks
.
Did anyone else of the Oppo crowd show up this past Saturday?

Okay, I know the NSX is small, so that must mean the C7s are smaller than I realize, because DAMN.

Heard about it but too far for me to make it out. I will be at Treasure Island Cars and Coffee on the 9th though!

The NSX is very, very low by today’s standards. It is probably as low as the Ferrari F355, an abominably painful car to get into and out of.

OK I’m stupid. I live on the Bay Area, been in oppo for 2 years & I’ve never heard of this meet - when & where is the next one? I can bring German or Japanese car worthy of a good car meet.

My first time too, so you’re no worse than me. Find “Jalopmeets” on Facebook for updates; no date for next month yet.

This is really interesting. Didn't know this sort of thing existed. If it doesn't affect my schedule, I'm doing more Jalopmeets.

Find them on Facebook for the next date (none yet) and location (it has always been the same place).

Hey Chan,
This is Taylor, one of the hosts of Jalopmeets. Anyone is welcome provided they follow the rules; no revving, burn outs, or fly-bys.(although space is becoming limited due to increased demand haha). Those rules are what keep us on good terms with the local police (located 3 blocks away). Our January meet ended up having 300+ cars on site and it was an absolute blast. Thanks for coming out and writing the spot on us. We would be happy to share/reblog this on our website once it’s back up.

Hey Taylor, I’ve met you somewhere else, haha. I didn’t make the January one, but hope to see you again soon!

I attend this meet! It’s run by one of my good friends. I believe it’s on the second Saturday of each month. If you guys search on facebook for jalopmeets, you can get all the information. Started out as a mostly BMW meet, but its pretty much open to anything as long as people are respectful of the rules! The last meet had over 300 cars..

Oh that’s too funny! I wonder where it was! .... DC? I also forgot to mention that Jalopmeets has no affiliation with Jalopnik. We just love the term Jalopy in reference to cars. Additionally, December was just under 250 cars by my count!
Hope we see you in February. Mind if we share this article on our FB/Website?

My pics weren’t really anything special, but feel free to share and thanks for asking!

I’ve been invited to a few of them on Facebook by various people. Never had a chance to go.
