Incase you missed it, the FR-S celebrated 2 years as my DD.

As a reward, I treated it to some new rubber. Now, if you’re not familar with the situation, the OEM tire is the same as that on the Prius (aka. Primacy HP). I replaced them with the Pilot Sport 3. The Primacy HP is a low rolling resistance tire and has a treadwear rating of 240. The Pilot Sport 3 is NOT a low rolling resistance tire and has a treadwear rating of 320. However, the Pilot Sport 3 is supposed to have better dry and wet grip.
Being I live in Florida, my drive home was pretty wet, and I’d have to say that the new tires are a definate improvement. Much better grip in a straight line and in the corners. The ride is slightly harsher, but no one will notice. The road noise is a little bit louder, but only noticable with the radio off. Also, the Pilot Sport 3 is a cheaper tire by $20 each, so I’d say I am very pleased with the decision. Happy Aniversary FR-S, you deserve it!
