I’m gonna head up Northern Tohoku for two days, and then spend about two weeks in Tokyo. I know that Sti is located near Tokyo, and I’m planning to visit the Honda welcome center in Aoyama.
If anyone knows any other good jalop-friendly locales in the Tokyo area, please let me know!

Autobac. It is the wonderful Harbor Freight Tools of Auto parts and wonderful car things we can't remotely get from the most well stocked Autozone.

I’d suggest just walking around and taking in all the different cars you see on the street. Plus when you’re in cars check out details. I did home-stay in Japan years ago and I remember being in shock over the retro elements in Japanese cars. They have a different sensibility regarding style compared to Americans.

Just walk around. Plenty to see there. If you are in Yokohama there is the Nissan Global HQ just a short distance from the Yokohama station east gate....It’s kind of cool, but nothing to make a special trip to unless you just happen to find yourself in the area.

Just keep your eyes open. The normal kei cars are fascinating. When I was walking in akihabara I saw a kei cement mixer. It blew my mind, and this was before I was even into cars

Megaweb and the History Garage are very cool. Mega web has every Toyota that is for sale. If you bring an international license you can drive some of them. They also have race cars and emerging tech. The Herritage Garage is also a must visit. Go into the the shop if they are there. Both are free. Pics and write up from my visit in May.

There is also a life size Gundam just down from the building this is all in.

I don't always order parts from Japan, but when I do I get them shipped overnight.

I’m mostly going to take the JR, or Tokyu lines, and my uncle drives around in a 3-series, so I’m probably not going to ride inside cars that much. I might check out the occasional cab that I may ride around in though.
