That the first gen Allroad was the most flexible and useful not an SUV for outdoor activities.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
But why not a Subaru? Here’s why.
No rust problems.
Adjustable air suspension that’ll automatically stance your car at some point.
4.2 liters of V8, or 2.7 liters of twin turbo V6.
Six speeds of manual, but only with the 2.7 liters of twin turbo V6.
Matte roof to prevent you from damaging it while placing shit on top of the car.
Heated front AAAANNNDDD rear seats.
Plastic exterior body cladding that doesn’t get fucky in the sun.
Very nice interior quality.
Also, believe it or not; if you keep up with routine maintenance and don’t drive like a fucking hoon then they’re fairly reliable.

Was that before or after it starts leaking water like a sieve?

I wasn’t the one who couldn’t build a car to be watertight for 15 years.
I sucked out about 5 inches of water from the rear foot well, the dash is toast, the electrics are toast, but the radio works!
All the interior has to come out now and see if the BCM can be salvaged.
Thanks, VW.

i knew a guy who had one for 300k kms. no issues. not even the air suspension.
he did a almost twice weekly trek from montreal to toronto for a few years.
yes he kept up with maintenance.
the rest must have been just flat out amazing luck.

Either a sunroof drain or the thing by the cabin air filter got clogged with shit and them Audi gifted you with that swimming pool you've always wanted.

It all depends on the owner. Routine maintanance, oil changes, proper cooling down and warming up procedures. They're great cars, but abuse and unreliabilty are hand in hand.

I’m thinking the one on the driver’s side, since that’s where all the water was.

Subarus will work more often.
They may not work as well, and are not as nicely equipped, but what good are heated seats if your mechanic is the only person who gets to use them?

*No rust problems where I live.
*I don’t know how to drive a manual.
*Heated seats don’t matter, especially if I can’t fit in the backseat.
*I can just give my car to some shop and let them stance it.
*My parents have two Toyota/Scion vehicles designed in the late 2000’s. Interior quality isn’t an issue.
Subaru wins, sorry.

What I just read was,
“No rust problems”
And then “Is 10x more likely to break” worded a bunch of different ways, followed by, “I’m in denial”.

Between us, we have two engines featured in the Allroad. Has either on of them grenaded itself yet? No.

Yeah, that part scares me a little. Especially the compressors. The Audizine people have found a way to override most failures I believe though.

JKM still thinks that smoking weed makes a reliable car.
haha sorry to give you shit. I looooooove the Allroad, but damnit they’re so unreliable!
My friend has the 2.7TT that was meticulously maintained by its first owner. It’s been such a money pit for him. Air suspension is the biggest problem. Don’t get me wrong, it’s an absolute hoot to drive but he pretty much avoids driving it because he’s scared of breaking something. He lives in Columbia, MO and literally only drives it home to St. Louis when he has to. Even then, he hitches a ride with his girlfriend whenever possible.

Knock on wood, but I’ve had my 2.7t of A6 for three months and it’s only needed a rebuilt ABS module. ($150) There’s somebody on my Audi forum with 200k on stock turbos.
The A6 was only meant to be a temporary car to bridge me over to a B8.5 A4, but it's holding up very well.
