I got a little bored earlier today and decided to paint on Forza. Not terribly experienced in designing liveries but I felt this was worth sharing, and of course, Miata is always the answer.

Now you gotta talk Doug into buying a new Miata, wrapping it just like this, and taking the car racing. I know that breaks all his rules for his next car purchase but even though I’ve enjoyed the articles, that would be more interesting than finding out how much CarMax has to pay for the next Land Rover repair.

Why the front splitter? if anything the miata has too much turn in oversteer, best solved with damping and the rear anti roll bar.

Please excuse poor photo quality (and it for some reason its rotation) but I recently decided to make an AWD Notch Style Mustang.

No regrets for ever theorizing that this car could be such a fucking track beast. With the addition of some other mods (totaling to 990 Hp, 750+ TQ) this little American Bugger hops off the line from 0 to 60 in 1.8 seconds. Handles beautifully for an American made vehicle.

Is it drift worthy? Not yet, trying to get more torque involved, maybe switch the tires back to street.

Anything Fox is good. Gaming is good. Very nice. Kinda wish I had an xbone now. There wasnt a Fox in Forza 2 iirc, and in irl, fossil fuels will be banned before I ever finish ‘90 GT. Then I have two more Foxes lined up after that. /sigh

I miss it quite a bit. Id like to get an xbone, but my PC is due for some parts. Things may change soon tho. Daughter turned 3 today, and shes navigating a micro 360 controller pretty good. If I cant talk the wife into it im sure the two of us can.

edit: the oval track that was DLC in Forza 2, I had second fasted time on the boards for quite a while. Thats the time and tune I sold thats on the CCX up there. Good times.

It’s one thing the game really needs aside from a wheel refresh (with center-locks, because racecars) and some more aero options for aesthetics.

I did about 2 successful paint attempts when I had Forza Motorsport 3 and I decided I didn’t have the patience for that $%&! I’ll stick to racing cars instead of painting them. :P

Thanks, I’m still really new to doing it “freehand” most times I would just mask over what other people did to make my own vinyls, but I found it more boring than just trying myself. This car is probably my third or fourth doing without mimicking other’s work. My problem is I don’t race enough though! I spend all my time in the livery editor.

Here’s one I did for the #2 WTCC civic, the top picture is the updated version that’s on the storefront. There’s a green and black version as well. I have more but I don’t have a whole lot of photos. Check my GT though and you should be able to finds some more!

How do I view your designs?

Does Forza simulate the horrible distortion of a cheap wide angle lens? It seems to be doing this right here.

You know what, it may not actually let you the same way it did in previous Forzas, you may need the car to view it under the “Get Designs” tab for customization.

I have liveries for the Miata, M235i, Rebellion R-One, and #2 WTCC Honda Civic. Not sure how else someone could access them though.

It must, I would have preferred to do a panorama but the game still only offers the basics for taking the photos themselves. The only thing they’ve added to this game was the ability to have water on the lens and to toggle headlamps on or off.

I actually use a foxbody 93 cobra as an A class racer online. My simple strategy is 3 cars for A class: cadillac cts-v for larger tracks with longer straights and sweeping corners, lotus 111 for short tracks, 93 cobra converted to AWD for wet races.

My most favorite moment of FM6 so far was racing in the rain in an A class tourney on the Nurburgring GP circut. The amateurs always race BAC Mono’s on A class because thats what the top leaderboards are... dumb way to pick a car...

ANYWAY

Final lap, final corner, in the rain. just behind the leader (in a BAC Mono of course) he was just a touch too late on braking, swept to the outside. I pull inside, Give it the F’n boot to the floor, dead tie out of the last corner and my foxbody cobra pulls to the line for the win. He was a good racer. you don’t lead in forza if you suck, flat out. but he was a slave to the leaderboards instead of building a car that he may have been able to drive better.

The lesson is: it doesn’t matter if its a mono or mustang, if you build your car and tune it to how you like to drive then you can beat just about anyone with just about anything. including an early 90’s muscle car beating a car from this decade built specifically to track.

AND amateurs will always be slaves to the leaderboards and will never have fun racing cars they just have because they’re the “fastest”

Lots of trial and error. To put it into perspective the reason I say I’m not really experienced is because even what I just made doesn’t stack up entirely to the work other painters are able to produce. For example, somebody on a Facebook group I’m a part of “just started” working on this....

It does look sort of brownish but it’s the lighting mainly. It was kind of hard to replicate the color spot on without going too bright, so it is a bit darker. On the track though the natural in game exposure makes it look a lot better.
