I’ve been doing a podcast for a little over a year and a video to accompany the podcast for a little over a half year. Just now, I hit some pretty cool milestones.
The podcast just rolled its odometer past the 100,000 listen mark. (Although, the system recorded listens differently for a month and created another category which no longer exists. If they rolled them all into one counter, I’d be at 107K right now but you’ll just have to take my word on that.)
My videos also just rolled past the 70,000 view mark which is pretty cool, considering that was done in less than half the time as the podcast. Youtube is also cool in another way: Some videos get promoted due to their content and end up with an unusually large number of views. My #1 video (

) now has more than 20,000 views.
I’ve also gotten some fun contacts along the way. I currently do a once-a-month gig on a radio show in Australia (I kid you not) and also just started a weekly gig in Flint, Michigan. I’ll post more on that later.
Meanwhile, I am working on the ultimate podcast. I am trying to work into a single headline the following topics: Mechanics who rip people off, Craigslist scams, Salvage vehicles, Insurance denials, and auto auctions. Those are the things that get the most people pissed off at me and I figure I could cause the world to implode if I could get them all into one headline. Feel free to throw rough ideas into the comments.
And the pic at the top? Not sure, but I bet it “Ran when parked.”

This website may supply general information about the law but it is for informational purposes only. This does not create an attorney-client relationship and is not meant to constitute legal advice, so the good news is we’re not billing you by the hour for reading this. The bad news is that you shouldn’t act upon any of the information without consulting a qualified professional attorney who will, probably, bill you by the hour.

Glad to have contributed about 50 of those listens. Really enjoy them. I live an hour and a half away from Wellborn and plan on driving there soon based on your recommendation!
Some of my favorites from you are when you tell crazy stories about what has happened to clients. Anyways, keep up the good work!

Thanks.
And the trip to Wellborn’s place is well worth it if you enjoy Hemis and Mopars. He’s got more than you can imagine.

Steve, it’s a real pleasure to have you here on Oppositelock. Your contributions to The Garage and Jalopnik are hugely appreciated as well. Your common-sense approach is tempered by real-world practicality and that’s a combination that’s not often expected from someone in your position.
I am one of those who gain that little extra benefit of your familiarity with Michigan’s nuances. Not one podcast goes by without me vigorously nodding my head in agreement at some point.
I hope your various projects and contributions don’t become overly burdensome. The experiences you have shared, and continue to share are priceless. I can’t thank you enough.

Thanks for the note. So far, all of this stuff is still fun so it doesn’t feel like work!

and also just started a weekly gig in Flint, Michigan.
I knew you’d make it back to radio eventually.
Congrats!

Definitely binge-listened to your podcasts driving across the country a few weeks ago. Great stuff.

I am still waiting for your spinoff cooking media network, “Lehto Slaw”

The show will be hyper-focused on nothing but salads and slaws. Not a “cooking” show as such. But it will involve a lot of leafy vegetables.

Great picture choice. I have been fascinated with old tractors from the steel-wheel era since I was a small child, and this pic alone would have been enough to get me to click into this post.
