Every so often I am reminded that Mitsubishi exists and they make cars. While sitting in the drivethru at Micky-D’s this morning, I see a pickup truck pull into the parking space closest to me. Nothing unusal so far, since about 1 in 3 cars in Green Bay are pickup trucks. But this one catches my eye. I have never seen it before.
It’s mid-size, looks modern, and and sports a menacing name: Raider. And it doesn’t look half bad (however, I never saw the front). The line moved forward before I could snap a pic, and the gentleman who was driving it was gone by the time I emerged with my McMuffins.
Looking it up on Wikipedia shows it’s just a re-skinned Dakota. Under 20k of these were produced over a 6 year span. Anyone else ever run into these in the wild? Are these common in your area of the country?

I worked at a Mitsu dealer while these where being sold, fucking terrible trucks. This was Chrysler at it’s worse. There is not one part of this truck engineered by Mitsubishi. Getting parts was a nightmare, I often had to order them from the Dodge dealer. The engines ate oil too. But getting body parts to repair them was the worse, stuff was constantly on back order.

I’ve seen them around from time to time. Not a bad looking small truck. Given this rare opportunity to talk about Mitsubishi’s trucks though, I’ll leave this here.

I've seen a few of these around, not many though. FWIW, I think it looks better than the Dakota. But they were both ugly trucks.
