Because as my short time as a valet I’ve that logo a lot, but rarely on the back of the car. M Branded door sills is a 535, M steering wheel in an X5, M shifter in a 328 and the list goes on. So can you just get any part with that logo when you buy the thing?

I think the short answer is yes.
The long answer is BMW offers some sort of “M Sports Package” for basically all their cars. It’s not a true M car, but you get some uprated suspension bits, different wheels, etc. And yes, a bunch of trim bits with the ///M.

Yes, but not until recently. The M badge used to be reserved for true M cars, now they throw it on anything (besides the “i” cars).
Valet is a great gig (depending on the venue), I got to drive a bunch of really sweet cars and made a ton of cash in my younger days.

Yes. These are probably Original BMW Accessories.

Pretty sure they sell M appearance packages, too, with nothing but sportier trim, M logos everywhere and nicer wheels (just like S-line trim for Audis). You can get M door sill plates and M tricolor bumper stripes (!) on a 320i. So lame.

All I can say is that my mum has an M steering wheel and shifter knob as a factory option in her 2002 530d touring, that is otherwise completely non-M. So for quite a while now, various M parts must have been on the options list for all kinds of cars.

Yeah, and I make actual minimum wage too on top of the tips. So yeah, I’m not gonna complain.

Depends on how you define recently. My mum has an M steering wheel and shifter knob in her 2002 530d touring, that has no other M options (no handling/appearance package).

The venue where I worked 90% of the time was tips only, but tips were so good it didn’t matter. There were only 3 of us and only 2 stayed until close. If you stayed, you’d pocket $200 easy.

Yea, I forgot about that. You could get them in the same era 330i with the competition package. I was referring more to the overuse of the badge and model designations. Like davesaddicion said, now its like the Audi S-line badge.
