This time on Old guy buys toys his parents denied him as a child..

I’m, hopefully, picking up a 1985 Honda 250SX. It’s kind of a cross between a Big Red utility trike and the 200X sport trike.

So I guess it’s a Sport Utility.. Heh.

Specs are

246cc 4 stroke

17 HP @ 7000 RPM

5 speed gearbox with reverse

Electric/Kick start

Full suspension

Shaft drive

Weight 357 lbs

The Yamaha Tri Z goes up for sale next week after it gets new sprockets to fix a gearing issue. That should put me in shape to restore the 200x and 250sx to their former glory!

Those things terrify me. None of the stability of a dirt bike, double the rolling-over-on-corners-fulness of a quad.

I used to think that too. Dirt Bikes are the best but I’m not a fan of Quads. On tight trails they’re too damn big to have any fun.

Yes! I have 2 just like it. I can’t even tell you how many times an ATC250SX has almost ended my life.

That’s a story that needs to be told!

Nothing exciting. My dad bought ‘em new way back in the day and took them down to his place in Mexico. Then when I bought the Mexico house off him the bikes came with.

Just many, many times I hit a dune weird or stuck a tire in a rut and dumped the thing. I had some pretty good ones. I remember once I swerved to avoid something or other and flew off a big embankment. I bailed in mid air, and the bike rolled about 5 times, landed upright, and rolled into the ocean. That was unfortunate.

Lol. Ok, the setting is cool. But it’s not a great story. Just a dumb teenager eating shit a bunch of times.

Sweet! I remember riding one a long time ago (before I started driving) and messing up turns because I’d lean like I was on a bike.

Oooofftopic time!

Still have any of those computers? You can E-mail me at sixmillion.austin@gmail if you have a bit of free time this weekend or next week.

Ah, yeah. I have a few of those stories. The setting sounds awesome though.

Yeah. It’s not quite like riding a Quad and not really like a Bike. There is a technique.

When in doubt hammer it!

I do have a few left. I’ll shoot a message tomorrow.

I didn’t get that one. I found a better deal and snagged it. I’m up to 4 trikes now 1 Yamaha and 3 Hondas.

A little of both if you aren’t careful! They’re so much fun though.
