Kinja'd!!!2 Kinja'd!!! 16

Saw a train full of APCs this morning, headed north. Anyone else here see it? Know where it was headed? They all looked fairly new.

Kinja'd!!!

EDIT: I am idiot. I live in Austin. This might be pertinent information to the question I’m asking.

Directly north of Austin is Ft. Hood. It’s either part of a training exercise or it’s Jade Helm 2: the part where we do all the stuff Alex Jones warned you about .

Probably just heading off to various Midwestern PDs. Nothing to worry about.

The Stryker (what’s pictured) is made by GDLS in Canada, so that might have been where they’re headed but I thought that current Stryker refits were being handled by Anniston in AL.

The invasion of Canada has begun.

Did you see them on MoPac? I’ve seen trainloads of APCs there before, and they were likely headed to Ft. Hood up in Kileen. But really, they could have been going anywhere.

They are STILL building out the Saudi order from the end of the first gulf war. Doubt they are shipping them up to us.

Yup, headed up MoPac. Canada, pepper yer angus...

I’m always amazed to see them moving stacks of truck frames. There’s always so many of them.

Ft. Hood is north of Austin, they might have been headed there, and either retained or distributed. But I really have no idea.

Not a Tank! Stryker.

(Sorry, lived in one for a year)

3rd ACR (Armored Cavalry Regiment) has recently transitioned from Tanks and Bradleys to a Stryker organization (what you see there). They are stationed at Fort Hood. Likely they went somewhere for a training exercise. Possibly the Joint Readiness Training Center at Fort Polk, LA.

This is unfortunate because Strykers are pieces of crap and 3rd ACR has kicked ass in the past as a heavy organization.

Yeah, I doubt they’re headed to Canada but I’m not 100% sure what GDLS is up to with Stryker production anyway. AFAIK the vast majority of US-owned Strykers have already been built and Anniston handles most or all of the refitting and upgrading.

Shipment from Anniston to Ft. Hood seems likely but I would have thought there’d be a more direct way than through Austin.

I live 40 minutes away. Friend of mine was there for a while. They were still making LAVs for the Saudis
