OK. So the last post has disappeared into the whatever.
Sketch (YAY CONFERENCE CALLS WITH ASIA) for your time.
Last week my desktop (a reliable workhorse build) went sideways. Win 7, not updated to Win 10.
Tonight, my work notebook (another workhorse, a big Dell Precision, moved to Win10 in August with no issues) updated. All the touch/gesture stuff had to be reset to work like it always had.
And the Surface is all sortsa fucked up.
Has anyone else had some major Windows-based issues this week?
Seriously— WTF IS THAT??

Everything computer-related is fucked up.
If it’s Windows-based (all I have to go on), it has fucked up badly, for no reason, this week.
Hence the post.

I haven’t had any other Windows errors this week. I run all 7 though.

I am kinda at wits’ end. I’m going to clone my desktop’s SSD and reinstall Win7, but the major fuckups with the Precision (Win10) and Surface (also Win10— forced update) have me tearing my hair out.
It’s just so infuriating, building something that works reliably, then, out of fucking nowhere, it doesn’t.

This won’t help for now, but maybe for later. It’s a pretty solid idea to turn off auto updates, and just install them individually once they’re proven reliable.

Yeah, I’ve done that on everything except the big desktop.
Lesson learned.

The newest Windows 10 update decided to make it so that none of my Lenovo computer management programs work. FUN.

My laptop on Win10 went to update the other day and failed, then went to start the update yesterday and it took (not kidding here), all day (granted some of that time was lost as my computer went into sleep mode twice. Finally downloaded and then took one and a half hours to install and configure itself.
It’s still better than Win8 or 8.1. Pi55ed off that I had to pay for an apt to watch dvds on the computer (apparently Microsoft didn’t fit the software to save themselves money, ar5eholes).

One of my laptops decided to update itself, i think to 10, on its own. The computer fell asleep halfway through and now the os is corrupt so i can’t get it started up.
I love windows, but the way win10 is being handled is absolutely stupid.
