The weird thing about me driving off hours (and during odd afternoon hours) is that I see a variety of weird cars and assorted vehicles. I may need some help with some of these.
Alright, so does someone want to tell me what a brand new New York MTA bus is doing driving through the Chicago Suburbs with Arizona plates? I know it’s a New Flyer, that’s it. I don’t even think New Flyer has a factory in Arizona.
Lexus mules!
More Lexus mules! (man, automakers love northern IL/southern WI)
Triumph GTS+ (we may have had a quick drag between lights, and he may have smoked me. I thought British sportscars were slow!)
Ford Taurus X. Apparently the Freestyle got a new name when the new Taurus was announced. Weird.
So, somebody tried converting their Silverado into an Escalade pickup.
Streetcar in Kenosha.
Bonus! When it snows, I always get the best parking spaces.

Um ok wtf re: the MTA bus. Did a driver go rogue? Is he trying to cash in bottle deposits in Michigan because it’s 10 cents a bottle? So many questions!!!

Those Lexus mules look more like nx200t with protection for transport

There’s a New Flyer facility in Elkhart, Indiana, but the Arizona plate would indicate the bus was purchased by some sort of second-rate transit or touring company...many large companies plate their fleets in Arizona to save on registration and insurance costs (biggest example: U-Haul).

In regards to the bus, it is likely for a film shoot. It’s probably much cheaper to film a shot in “New York City” (generic Chicago neighborhoods) than in NYC proper.
Those Lexus’ are just wrapped up for delivery. Here’s how F-Types are delivered -
Driving one with the condom on was like driving a tank.

That’s why it caught my attention. I originally thought it was a Pace bus, but Pace buses are never full white. The seats inside were still wrapped in plastic and the front end had a plastic sheet adhered to it (stops rock hits during travel?).

That's why the driver left NYC when he could.

NEXT BUS PLEASE
Yep that’s definitely a MTA bus.

Even funnier, so long as there aren’t many of these buses running around outside of NYC, the “next bus” is like 1,000 miles away. lol

I knew that New Flyer has a facility in Indiana, but I mean like, this bus was traveling on an expressway 30 miles west of Chicago and heading south. SUCH CONFUSION!

If it’s a brand new bus, that’s just weird, yeah. I still think some rando suburban transit company buying a used MTA bus is the way this makes sense in my brain.
