Maybe it’s time to move the race to Toronto before it’s too late.

!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , and it doesn’t look things will be much better in 2016 either, according to the event’s main promoter.

François Dumontier, the president and sole shareholder of Groupe Octane, told La Presse on Tuesday that even though ticket prices went up and 6 per cent more tickets were sold this year, the promoter has yet to fully pay off its suppliers to the tune of more than $100,000.

To cover the shortfall, Dumontier says the event needs a new title sponsor — something it hasn’t had since its contract with Air Canada ran out in 2003.

Come what may, however, Dumontier says he’s not in any serious financial difficulty, and that the race itself isn’t in danger of leaving Montreal. He’s slated to be the promoter of the Montreal race through 2024.

Dumontier’s company took over the promoter’s role from Normand Legault in 2009, the last year there was no Canadian Formula One race.

I would use the Exhibition place street circuit, and send Indycar to Montreal.

I never understood why we had indycar in Toronto and f1 in Montreal. Especially now that Honda has been the title sponser for a while if it switched they could rename it honda f1 in Toronto. Make it giant weekend for mclaren-honda with track test drives and the lot .

Indy car circut isn’t grade 1. Probably have to be made a bit longer but it might be fun if it gets upgraded.

Mabye alternate between Montreal and Toronto each year.

That would be cool, but most people don’t want to see a new McLaren Honda sputter around and break down!

Yes, in what is this derogatory ?

Quebec tried to separate twice in recent history, they elected a separatist gov just 3 years ago. They want out, fine, but don’t expect me to include them in my Canadian lists.

But, Toronto is filled with crack addicted people, because they elected that mayor in 2010. Am I doing this right?

C’mon guys, aren’t we supposed to talk cars? This is getting funny

that’s the point, no politics here, and by the way the political party in power at the time tried to separate not the people, more than half voted both times to not separate, and since then that political party has lost power and ground in quebec.

So for the last time keep crap(things you have obviously no idea what you are talking about) away from oppo.

I am just as canadian as you are, no mater what you say asshole. Sorry to break it to you but your Canada does include Quebec. If that bothers you, please leave Canada. Go to the states, you would fit in well with the Donald.

i don’t want to kick the dead horse here, but please do not mix the Quebec population with the elected government. We are not all separatists. There are only a few hard core separatists left. and the elected government is not always a separatist government. and by the way, the separatists are ignorant two faced assholes. they make laws to prevent average french families from sending their kids to English schools, when they them selves send/sent their children to private English schools. Sure I’m an Bilingual Quebecois, I see myself mostly English. but most 100%french people I know have the same views I do.

The Parti Quebecois only won the 2012 elections with a minority only because they helped the conflict with the student unions at the time, and did nothing more for the students or other government work unions. But since 2014 the liberals are back in power with a majority government, and the union protests are back.

anyways sorry to bark at you before, it’s just when people think we are all separatists, and that we are not Canadian, it’s just so uncanadian it pisses me off.

are we good now? See i’m a real canadian I said sorry

This isnt news. F1 never makes money for the event or promoter. The FIA gets all the money. The venue only makes money with substantial goverment funding.
